It can only get harder though

Lecce star Chevanton faces ankle surgery that will rule him out for seven months after tearing his ankle ligaments in training

Esteban Chevanton is set to miss the majority of Lecce's season.

The Lecce striker required surgery to clear up an ankle ligament tear that he suffered during a training match on Saturday

The 30-year-old was a substitute in Lecce's 5-0 victory last weekend and came on for the last 19 minutes.

Although the current injury is serious, Chevanton is in high spirits and is already looking forward to fill the time playing Football Manager and seeing if in the game he escapes injury.

Benito said ' Chevanton is a great player and will be sadly missed causing me to recall one of the shite players in the youth team which I am not happy about , our youth system is about as good as a duck out of water, we should be ashamed of our poor youth system and I call on the President to invest heavily in the youth facilities as to achieve the fans dream we need more home grown players.'

To make matters worse in the next game prolific striker Mpenza strained his knee ligaments and is out for upto 6 weeks giving Benito real striking problems.
Ouch, missing most of the season :O

Lecce manager threatens to resign over board actions

Silvio 'Benito' Baldini has sensationally threatened to quit run away Serie C leaders Lecce after a dispute with the club president over the youth production and the lack of training facilities. Earlier this month Benito said 'Our youth system is about as good as a duck out of water, we should be ashamed of our poor youth system and I call on the President to invest heavily in the youth facilities as to achieve the fans dream we need more home grown players.' The Club President said ' Silvio is talking out of his arse he doesnt know what he is doing and has no right to question the facilities we are in Serie C , we have the best facilities out side of the top half of Serie A if he wants those facilities he needs to prove himself and be such a cocky arrogant middle aged man and learn how to treat people with respect. The shoe incident is something we have looked into and the club have filed a report to the Italian FA.'

However whatever the style of management of Benito he was won the fans over and has made Lecce a great force in lower league Italian football and has won 10 games out of 10 with a goal difference of 33 in all competitions. In the last five games Lecce have scored 18 and only let in 3 goals. The highlight of these was a 6-0 thrashing of Serie D team Foligno in the Serie C Cup thanks to a double from Bogilacino and Foligno finished the game with 9 men after Zanoni and Roselli were sent off. Other games included a 4-2 away win at Cremese followed by two home games against Alto and Fligno 5-0 and 6-0 respectively and finally a game against Treviso away where it alll kicked off in the board room at full time when Lecce won 3-1.

Lecce bought by successful Saudi Business Group

Lecce have today been taken over by The Saudi Binladin Group , the company is run by the cousin of notorious terrorist Osama bin Laden. However the company have no links to terrorism and are one of the best construction business in the world.Bakr bin Laden , the new Lecce chairman said " This is a very exciting time for SBG and Lecce we are pleased to clear all debts of this fantastic club and are looking forward to working with Silvio to achieve his dream of returning Lecce to Serie A, we have the funds available if needed but they will not be thrown around and used for the wrong purposes. The first thing we will do is build a new training complex which will include 17 football pitches, a 7,000 capacity stadium for reserve matches, a youth academy complete with classrooms and accommodation and even a community sixth-form college and leisure centre.

The SBG was founded in 1931 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Laden Sayyid, whose relationship with the country's founder, Abdel Aziz al Saud, led to important government contracts such as refurbishing the mosques at Mecca and Medina. After the death of Sheikh Mohammed in 1968, the group was headed by Mohammed Bahareth, brother of Mohammed's first wife and uncle of his oldest children. In 1972, Salem bin Laden, the eldest son of Mohammed bin Laden, took over as his father's successor, with the assistance of several brothers. Upon Salem's death in a plane crash in 1988, the leadership of the group passed to one of Salem's brothers, Bakr, the current chairman, along with thirteen other brothers who make up the board of the bin Laden group, the most important of these being Hassan, Yeslam and Yehia. By 2002, the company had 35,000 employees worldwide. Today, SBG has over 100,000 employees and is worth tens of billions if not hundreds; the annual revenue of the group exceeds thirty billion US dollars.
