Liverpool have announced that club legend Steven Gerrard has been appointed manager of Liverpool Football Club. This is Gerrard's first venture into management after retiring 28 years ago. The player is Liverpool through and through with the Reds being his only club.
Fans are confident the face of Liverpool will guide the club back to the Premier League and eventually the top of the world, just like old times.
"I am very happy to be appointed Liverpool manager. I love the club and hoepfully the club will continue to love me. My first aim is to get us promoted first time of asking however it won't be easy. After that who knows where we can go"
At the age of 62, some critics believe Gerrard has left it too long to take to management. They believe he has been out of the game too long and too much has changed for him to have a big impact.
