So, I'm Scunthorpe United in this save and I'm currently in January 2014. I'm really impressed with my squad, we're in the championship first time promotion from league one and we're now third in the league, ahead of us are Swansea and Leicester.
3rd in the league is great for a club like Scunthorpe however I want to get into the Premier league via automatics. Our form has dropped recently and since we're in January I'm looking to find a decent loanee who will help us out and go for that 2nd place spot or even push for 1st. Almost all of the players I signed for this season were free transfers, mainly players that I had had on loan the year before, for example Ben Alnwick, Sean Thornton Connor McAleny etc. The only player I actually payed a fee for was ALF (Adam Le Fondre)
The player I was interested in was Henry Lansbury however he has gone on loan to a French side therefore he is out of the question so I've looked towards Shelvey as I have a link with Liverpool, however, Liverpool haven't suggested this player to me and since that is the case they are expecting me to pay 50% of his wages and that is actually something I can't afford to do. I've let go of a few players for example Kai Aranson (Icelandic midfielder/defender) so that I can afford Shelvey but I still do not have enough. Every other midfielder I really want for example Sidwell from Fulham are really expensive to buy so I can't or I can't afford their wages.
I'm just wondering if there are any decent players abroad etc? I really need something to bolster my squad ready for the last few months of the season but I don't know what. This is my squad already, a very small one, for those of you who are wondering.
