Arsenal Wenger: Arsenal FC sack manager

The club said he "had failed to achieve any of the club's targets, with the exception of qualification for next season's Champions League".

Tottenham's Portuguese manager André Villas-Boas has been strongly tipped to replace Wenger.
On Sunday night, 35-year-old , André Villas-Boas who spent one season in charge at Chelsea, insisted there was no deal in place for him to become the new Arsenal boss.

"I deny here and now being the new coach of Arsenal FC," he said after Tottenham's goalless draw. "I haven't signed any agreement with anybody."

In a statement, Arsenal thanked 63-year-old Wenger for the job he had done since joining the club in 1996.
Good luck with the story. I hope you stick it out with Arsenal for longer than I did!

New Arsenal FC manager David Odumosu promises to play a more attacking style of football than his predecessors.

SUAREZ JOINS ARSENAL

Luis Suarez joined Arsenal FC for a fee of £49 million, earning £125k per week. Now Luis Suarez will be leading Arsenal FC up front. Many fans were pleased with the signing of Suarez for a fee which smashed Arsenals record, and the club expects merchandise sales will soar as a result of this.

The fee is a £31 million fee which will rise up to 49million in 48 months.

After finishing the 2009-10 season with a remarkable tally of 49 goals in 48 games in all competitions for Ajax, winning the Dutch Cup in the process, Suarez travelled to South Africa to contest the World Cup finals with Uruguay.

DUO JOIN ARSENAL

Leighton John Baines (born 11 December 1984) is an English footballer who plays for Everton and the England national football team.

He started his career with Wigan Athletic, with whom he won the Second Division in the 2002–03 season and was a runner-up in the 2004–05 Championship and the 2006 Football League Cup Final. He joined Everton in 2007, helping them reach the 2009 FA Cup Final. He has played for England at under-21 and senior levels.

Isaiah Brown (born 7 January 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League, but has begun training with Chelsea ahead of an anticipated transfer.
Brown played for West Bromwich Albion's academy and reserve teams before making his senior debut in 2013.
Brown has represented England at under-16 and under-17 levels.

Odumosu said: “Hopefully we can get both some playing time next season but both need to keep their levels up and keep making an impact in training and games.

ARSENAL 1 - 0 WEST HAM

The breakthrough came after 34 minutes. There was a hairy moment for Wojciech Szczesny as Matthew Taylor's volleyed effort landed on the roof of his net and West Ham earned two corners in quick succession.

In the 57 minute hot-headed Emmanuel Frimpong got sent off after a reckeless tackle and after Arsenal had made all three subs. Arsenal's Vermaelen got injured which left Arsenal to hold their nil win with 9 men.

Best of the match:

  • Man of the match:
  • Podolski. Everything seemed to flow through the German for Arsenal. His link-up play in the final third was magnificent.

  • Save of the match:
  • Jaaskelainen made a brave charge out to deny Walcott, but otherwise he was rarely tested aside from the goals.

  • Talking point:
  • Frimpong's red card.
£48 million?! For Leighton Baines?! Are the Arsenal board members high?
