Hi guys,

I am today starting a story that I will be doing for a while. It is called the Nationalist Challenge. This is something I saw on another site and I thought that it might be quite a good challenge.

I apologise for my last story, I just think I was too far in to be bothered to do writing on it. Anyway, I have just started this and hopefully you guys will see it all the way through.

There will be more on this coming up in a bit.

Cheers!

More information on this story:

Basically in this story, the idea is to only sign players from England. Now you might think that it would be easy to start this with a big side like United, Arsenal or Chelsea, with all the money you could hope for?

But you are probably wrong. It is more difficult as players for the future can only be signed from England, not Brazil, Spain or Belgium. Who are your options to sign up front. Welbeck and Rooney probably won't leave United, and Defoe and Crouch are not getting any younger. And this is the challenge.

The Rules:

  • Straight away, players must only be signed if they are of English nationality. Obviously.

  • There are some specific rules on how many foreigners there can be, as you obviously can't get rid of everyone straight away.
    1. Season One - No restriction on foreigners, but only English players signed.
    2. Season Two - Maximum of 5 foreigners on the pitch for you at any point, including substitutions.
    3. Season Three - Same as above but with only 3 foreigners allowed.
    4. Season Four - By now you should be able to have a full squad of home-grown talent.

  • Dual Nationality Players - This, in the original challenge is not compulsory, and I will be allowing myself to have dual-nationality players. However, after 3 seasons (for over 21's (when they are signed)), and 5 seasons (for under 21's (when they are signed)), if they do not change to English nationality, I will have to try to sell them.

  • Staff - I am going to try and use only English staff, with dual-nationalities as well. However, there is one exception to my staff, with my Director of Football, who is Brazilian. I am using him as he speaks English and has full scouting knowledge of England thanks to previous jobs in England.

  • Objectives - Win as many trophies as possible!
  • My choice of Club

I have decided that I will try and take Chelsea to new levels by making them the forefront of my plans. In recent years under Abramovich, Chelsea have become a club that have gone down the route of foreign players. I can hopefully change this and help England become a top nation once again.

    Who am I?

I am ex-footballer Joe Dowley, and have given myself this difficult task.

    More coming up soon.

    DOWLEY ALREADY UNPOPULAR AT CHELSEA

    By Jeff Hughes

Joe Dowley has become unpopular with Chelsea this past week, after news that he was trying to move on many of Chelsea's better players from the first team.

Fans and players alike have complained via Twitter to vent their frustrations at the 25 year-old boss. It is clear that Dowley has upset many players and fans, by trying to sign many English players and also move on many foreign players from the squad.

Many of the fans believe that the main problem is not having big-names coming in from other top clubs. The club have had the likes of Andriy Shevchenko, Didier Drogba, Arjen Robben and Claude Makelele during the Roman Abramovich era, but Dowley has not been particularly Abramovich-esque during his spending spree so far.

This has led to the fans becoming very frustrated with the club and new manager Joe Dowley. The club have now said goodbye to a few of the regular first-team players from past seasons, and have bought in quite a few youngsters who are promising for the country's future.

It will be interesting to see whether Chelsea can continue to compete at the top levels of European and English football during the next couple of years, until all the players become fully developed.

But for now, Chelsea fans will just have to wait and see.

I AM VERY SORRY GUYS BUT MY COMPUTER HAS JUST COMPLETELY CRASHED AND I HAVE LOST THE SAVE AFTER RELOADING IT. SORRY BUT I WILL PROBABLY TRY AND START ANOTHER AGAIN.
