Player ratings going down

So i had just finished a season my current assistant manager left so i got a new one and when i did everyones rating went down like messi went from 5 star to 4 star and people from like 3 stars went to 2 stars any reason why this happend I mean it can't have changed that much because my old assistant and my new assistant have relatively the same Potential and current judging attribute

Their stars represent their overall rating for your team at its current level. You may have noticed that a team of 5 star players in one league will drop to 3 stars when promoted... it is the same for the top leagues, if you do well in a season then the next season you are expected to have better players so the rating (maybe read rating as suitability) drops. Don't worry too much though, 3 stars represents a player who is good enough for your team, anything above that is great...

Obviously as players age as well they will drop ratings, messi could well be a 5 star player even after a couple of seasons but will inevitably drop down as he gets older. As a rule i try not to have any players with a CA rating of less than 3 stars, your key players and most of your first team (especially with a top team) should be 4+ really.

Yeh i understand but there arn't any players over 4 stars even a new youth i scouted at 16 he was 4 and a half stars then when the season finished he hadn't aged he went down to 4 stars and he was on the barcelona squad thats what i don't understand why younf youth players have also dropped some stars when they were rated higher beforehand

Like no one is rated 5 stars (i manage r madrid after i got wolves promoted) and in the first season there zidane (cheif scout) was bringing up 5 star rated players no one he scouts is there all 4 stars
