Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne has agreed to sell the club to Ex Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Aberdeen official website said in a statement "We are delighted to announce that Ex Aberdeen+Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed a deal with the club to become chairman.

With Alex Ferguson's arrival he has relieved first team manager Derek Mciness and his backroom staff of their duties. Alex and the directors are already looking for a new man, we wish the best of luck to Derek and staff.

BREAKING NEWS: Rio Ferdinand has been officially announced as Aberdeen manager.

Chairman Sir Alex Ferguson said in a club statement "I'm delighted to announce that the deal for Rio Ferdinand to come to the club as manager is a done deal, Rio has brought his own staff which will include my ex assistant manager Mike Phelan and also Paul Scholes and Gary Neville who will both be coaches at the club"

Sir Alex signed off the statement by saying "I'm looking forward to working with Rio again it's time to get preparation under way ahead of the new season"

Rio Ferdinand attended his first press conference today after claiming he was to busy to do his initial press conference in pre-season.

Our chief reporter Brian Swanson was their ask the new Aberdeen manager some questions

Brian Swanson: Rio,You've chosen to go into management at the age of 34, Did you have much playing years left in you?

Rio: Urrrr,I wouldnt of said so maybe 1 or 2 more seasons then that would of been it.

Brian Swanson: Any news on the transfer front as yet?

Rio: We are set to announce a few over the coming days.

TRANSFER NEWS:

The Aberdeen website confirmed today that Rio Ferdinand has completed his first signings as Aberdeen manager.

Rio Ferdinand said on the official club website "I'm delighted to announce today we have completed the signings of Steven Caldwell on a free agent,Also Nile Ranger and Zoltan Gera both on Free. Also the loan deals of Bebe and experienced striker Leroy Lita have gone through.

We have also signed Ben Amos on a 4 year contract for a fee of half a million pounds, Manuel Pascali has also joined the club from Kilmarnock on a 1 year deal"
