Rablador: I know, I seriously regret signing him!
Some nice signings and good pre season results.
As I have little else to include beside results, I will now have an update for each game, spreading out the results more making it easier to read. :)

Tuesday 14th August 2012 – Exeter City 1-2 Crawley Town (Round 1)

Crawley Starting XI: Jones, Beye, Connolly, McFadzean, Sadler, Simpson, Drury, Adams, Clarke, Jones, Noselli

After a dull first half, Sam Parkin opened the scoring with a penalty in the 59th minute. It looked as if an upset was on the cards, but Alessandro Noselli was able to convert again 7 minutes later. With five minutes remaining and a replay on the cards, Nicky Adams managed to secure the win with a finesse from the edge of the box, topped off with a red card for Exeter play Craig Woodman in the dying embers of the game.

MOTM - Josh Simpson

- Crawley Town will play Watford FC in the 2nd Round.

Saturday 18th August 2012 – Crawley Town 1-3 Peterborough United

Crawley Starting XI: Jones, Beye, Connolly, McFadzean, Sadler, Simpson, Drury, Adams, Clarke, Jones, Noselli

Alessandro Noselli started an early campaign for signing of the season with another goal, in the 34th minute to open the scoring. However, with Andy Drury having to leave the pitch in the 49th minute due to an injury, things just got worse for Crawley, as the Posh grabbed 3 goals in the last 30 minutes, with Tommy Rowe converted on the hour, Michael O'Halleran scoring on the 77th, and Danny Swanson completing the scoring in injury time.

MOTM - Michael O'Halleran

Tuesday 21st August 2012 – Walsall FC 1-7 Crawley Town

Crawley Starting XI: Jones, Beye, Connolly, McFadzean, Sadler, Simpson, Drury, Adams, Clarke, Jones, Noselli

Mike Jones stole the show today, scoring his first in the 21st minute. Newly signed defender Habib Beye then scored his first for the club with half an hour played, followed by Mike Jones with his second of the night just 8 minutes later. Crawley looked to go into half time with a comfortable lead, until Jake Heath slotted home a penalty with the last kick of the half. Ten minutes into the second half, Jones completed his hat-trick with a header, crossed in by Drury who later scored in the 76th minute. Noselli certainly didn't want to miss out in the goal fest, and almost finished with 10 minutes to go, but due to a deflection, his shot was classed as an own goal. Nevertheless, just 2 minutes later he did score, showing why he is the main striker for the Reds.

MOTM - Mike Jones

Saturday 25th August 2012 – Crawley Town 2-0 Notts County

Crawley Starting XI: Jones, Beye, Connolly, McFadzean, Sadler, Simpson, Drury, Adams, Clarke, Jones, Noselli

A quieter game in comparison to last week, but another win for Barker's Boys. Josh Simpson, a player almost sold at the start of the season, opened the game with a well placed goal in the 32nd minute, and sent the reds into half time with a small lead. Italian stallion Alessandro Noselli certainly sent scouts on the hunt for him, with yet another goal just 2 minutes into the second half to complete the scoring and grab Crawley Town 3 points.

MOTM - Mike Jones

Tuesday 28th August 2012 – Crawley Town 2-1 Watford FC (Round 2)

Crawley Starting XI: Jones, Beye, Gonzalez, McFadzean, Sadler, Fer, Drury, Adams, Clarke, Jones, Noselli

In a game where the Hornets should have won with ease, Crawley midfielder Billy Jones scored a cracker just 3 minutes into the game. And then surprise, surprise, in just the 5th minute Alessandro Noselli popped up again to get his name on the scoresheet, and win a 2-0 lead, sent Crawley to play defensive football for the rest of the game. Almen Abdi managed to get one back for Watford in the 54th minute, but it wasn't enough and sent Watford crashing out of the Capital One Cup.

MOTM - Billy Clarke

- Crawley Town will play Everton FC in the Third Round.

Monthly Review - August 2012

At the end of the month, we have progressed very nicely into the third round of the Capital One Cup, but I expect an exit in the next round with a trip to Goodison Park. The league campaign has started well, with just one loss, and a brilliant 7-1 victory over Walsall. As a result, we currently sit in 5th place after three games, only 3 points behind Peterborough, Colchester and Bristol City, the top three. Alessandro Noselli is leading the top goalscorers award with 3 goals, tied alongside Crewe's Max Clayton, while Mike Jones has the highest average rating in the league with 8.27. Billy Clarke also features with the most assists, currently having 4.

Two players of the club were involved in the monthly awards for Player of the Month and Goal of the Month for August 2012:

Told you Noselli was terrible! Only 2nd in goal of the month! ;)
Some great signings! Ivan Gonzalez looks great!
Great win over Walsall :P

Saturday 1st September 2012 – Gillingham Town 1-2 Crawley Town

Crawley Starting XI: Jones, Beye, Gonzalez, McFadzean, Domi, Fer, Drury, Adams, Clarke, Jones, Noselli

In a game which saw 6 yellow cards, 4 going to Gillingham, The Gills took an early lead after just 6 minutes, with Cody McDonald finishing an Adebayo Akinfenwa cross. Nevertheless, Crawley fought hard, and deservedly got the equalizier after half an hour, Mike Jones the scorer.

Approaching half time, Crawley looked the better side, and with 4 minutes of the half remaining, managaed to take the lead, with midfielder Billy Clarke slotting home the goal. Crawley went into half time with the lead, and retained for the next 45 minutes to collect a well earned three points.

MOTM - Stuart O'Keefe
Nice results, especially Walsall :P
