Chapter 1- Unemployment
Section 5

Mr. Here's 50 Euros. 50 Euros. You get me to Anoeta now. I have to be there at 8:00.

Are you bribing me Mister?

You bet I am. Now step on the gas.

Alright Alright. Here we are. You happy now?

No! What time is it?

8:23 I guess poor little Mr. Bribe is late. What a shame.

Ah F*ck. God damn Drivers. They have to be so god damn annoying, Don't they. Ah, there's our president himself. Mr. Jokin

Hello Mr. Di Matteo. Fashionably Late?

I can explain.

You can explain for nothing. I told you to be here at 8:00, and you show up at 8:23. Not the best way to impress a future boss.

The Taxi driver wouldn't bring me here

Excuses, Excuses.

Alright Robert, you're turn to shut up and listen

When I bought this cub, my intention was to make this team into the best in the world. You see, I thought I was going to come in and win immediately. But that was not the case. You see Roberto, to win in this game, you need money, and to get money, you need to win. Win trophies. Trophies. Lots of them! That's what I wanted when I came here. How many trophies do I have now. Let me count. None. No trophies. That's why Jagoba was fired. That's why I want to hire you. Because you want trophies with Chelsea. The biggest trophy in Club football. Here, I want you to replicate that success. I want my trophies Roberto. Will you bring them to me?

I'll try of course, but It's not as easy as It seems.

[Alright Roberto, let's break this down for you. You win, you stay. You lose, and you're back in that shack you have in England. If you sign this contract I'm about to give you, you better win. Because I'm sick of pulling a Liverpool and always finishing in the Europa League or pulling an Arsenal and finishing 4th. So Roberto, if you sign this contract, you are promising me my trophies and my money. You're also promising yourself money, because if you win, you're getting lots of it.

Let me see the contract.

Here it is Roberto, 5,750 pounds a week. Non negotiable. You sign and you're manager. You hesitate, and your chance is gone!

Alright, I'll sign! Give me the contract

Di Matteo :D Of course the Chelsea fans loved him, he scored after 45 seconds in the '97 FA Cup final :P

Chapter1-Unemployed
Article

Hey guys, trying out something new with this update. It's a bit buggy, and the end is cut off. It's supposed to say that there will be a live press conference of MARCA.com with Di Matteo (might be an update ;))

Anyway, the format is 5 updates per chapter and (usually) a review of the games played and a news article. Thanks for reading :)

Also, Thanks to Nick for this excellent banner! :D
Ooooo! Very interesting layout
I've commented. You can update now! :P

Chapter 2- The Start of an Era
Section 1

Press Conferences. Otherwise known as lying to the press. I don't understand why managers are obligated to tell the media all about the club and what we're doing. There are 19 other teams that we're trying to beat and I don't want them knowing exactly what we're going to do.And here are MARCA.com, trying to grab all my secrets and tell them to the world.

Mr Di. Matteo, why did you come to Sociedad when clubs like PSG inquired in you?

I don't know what you're talking about, I was never approached by PSG. And why did I come to Soceidad. Well, they're an excellent young team with great talents such as Antoine Griezmann and Inigo Martinez. I think we can build an excellent team here that can challenge for titles and trophies?

What do you mean by we?

Well we have some great staff here that know how to provide information in a clear and simple way. They've helped me a lot and improved my knowledge of the league

What are you goals for this season

Well I definitely want to finish in the top 4 this season and maybe steal some point off Barcelona and Real Madrid. I think we can also get to the knockout stage of the Champions League and the semifinals of the Copa Del Rey.

Have you made any decisions about who you want to keep and who to get rid of?

Well, every player has a value and a price. If I can buy a player for a price below his value, then I'll do it. If I can sell a payer that has a price that's higher than his value , I'll do it. I don't care if he's the captain of the team or the benchwarmer. The only way to win is too make shrewd deals, and you can expect me to make many throughout the season.

How much money do you have available to spend

I obviously can't tell you the exact figure, but we have a good portion of the money received the Illaramendi deal available to spend.

What do you think about the Illara deal?

Well, Illara is a class player, but in this case, selling was the right decision. The 37 million euros we recived can be reinvested and will be keep to assuring we have success during this season and future seasons.

What areas of the team need improving?

The team is very strong but I d think we need a more attacking pair of fullbacks and maybe a rock wall at defensive midfield position. The team as a whole is very strong with lots of depth up front, and I think we could make a serious run for 3rd or even 2nd place.

What kind of football do you want to play here? Are you going to bring back the kick and run style English football that defeated Barcelona in the semi final in the Champions League?

no, of course not. The team has some excellent passers and we're going to look to keep the ball. A 4-5-1 formation would be idea.

Thank you for your time Mr. Di Matteo
I knew it would be a good read when I saw the author's name, but this is great :D

Chapter 2- The Start of an Era
Section 2

The Anoeta stadium is an open stadium. Sun flows in from every angle to make the Stadium look fresh and new. That's exactly what I need. Fresh and New, and Ihope I can get it here at Soceidad. I'm at Anoeta now for the first training session of the year. The lads start off on their own by jogging from the touchline to the top of the 18 a few times. Then they start passing together. While they warm up, I go talk to my assistant coach, Jose Mari Lumbreas. He gives me a weak smile as I walk toward him, but I can see in his eyes that he disapproves of me.

Hey Jose. What's the matter?

I don't think that we're going to win with you. You don't play the game that we do.

We?

The Spanish people

Look Jose, I'm here for the same reason you are, to win games! If you don't think I can do it, then that's too bad. However, if you want to be assistant coach on this team, you better work your little tale off for me and this whole team. They're not going to like me Jose. The players. I'm a foreigner, and I'm no Mr. Nice Guy. But you, you're a different story all together. The players trust you, and I need you to help establish a friendly environment here so I can get the full potential of of this team

And why should I help you?

I have big dreams Jose. I have big dreams for this club. We're reaching a turning point in the club's history. All of a sudden we have some money and some great young players. We're in a situation like Valencia were a couple seasons ago. They had lots of talent too, but they let it go. We can't afford to do that. You might not know it yet, but my goal and your goal is to keep our young talent and acquire more of it We're one of the few spanish sides who can improve their team this year, and if we're buyers and not sellers, maybe we can escape the situation in which we sell all the talent off and start to decline. And maybe, just maybe if we continue on the path that we're on right now, we can challenge for a title. Imagine Sociedad winning the coveted La Liga trophy in just a few years. That's achievable But we have to work together Jose. Before we lift that trophy, a lot of things must come into place, and I trust that you can help me with some of those things! Alright?

He stares at me for a second, a hint of admiration in his eyes. Then he finally speaks.

Alright Roberto, Alright. I see where your headed with all of this. I'll do my best to try and help you achieve some of your big dreams, but you have to promise that you'l consider my ideas too. I think that I should be manager of this club, but maybe we can work together.

Definitely Jose, Definitely!

I walk away from my assistant towards the training ground, where the players are waiting for my instructions. Jose follows me. As I walk towards the players, I replay that conversation in my head and start to wonder if lifting that BBVA trophy is possible. Then, I reach the players. Antoine Griezmann sticks out like a sore thumb. He has a cocky grin on his face and his smirking at one of the other lads, an older man. Probably Xabi Prieto. The team looks tired but relaxed. Well, they're in for a surprise...!
Wow. A great Update. It makes we want to sign for Real Sociedad, just to be part of their future.
