Player of the month
Joel

Why has he deserved it?
With Ali Al-Habsi playing in the WAFF Championship for Oman, loanee Joel had to step in for the month and fill Ali's boots well. In the first game of the month against Sunderland, he scored a free-kick like Rogerio Ceni and then went on 5 clean sheet in the 8 games. It looks like Ali Al-Habsi will have to impress Kilbane to get back into the First XI.

Kilbane's month in words
A great month for us as we strolled into the Knockout Rounds of the Europa League with the likes of Premier League giants, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. We also managed to reach the semi's of the Capital One Cup after beating Sunderland 2-0 as a reward we get their rivals Newcastle in the semi's which is contested over 2 legs. In the Europa League we have been drawn with Group J and Romanian champions Steaua Bucharest who finished 1st in their group over 2006 and 2007 UEL winners, Sevilla and then if we beat them Braga or Real Sociedad which will be interesting. In the league we did great as well overshadowed by a great 4-0 away win at Loftus Road!

Player of the month
Grant Holt

Why has he deserved it?
His hat-trick over the 2 legs got us through into the Quarter Final of the Europa League to get us a tasty tie with St.Etienne!

Kilbane's month in words
Good month again! QF's of the Europa League await but seriously need to get up the board otherwise I will get sacked. The lack of fit players are leaving me with a hard choice to make with the players. It makes no sense 2-1 at home to Real Sociedad but 1-1 at home to Doncaster Rovers with all respect to Doncaster.

Good month! 5-0 is particularly pleasing.

Player of the month
Mislav Orsic

Why has he deserved it?
He's made a name for himself, brought on a sub against Blackpool to try to score to win and he duly delivered by scoring a goal and scoring 6 more that month.

Kilbane's month in words
We've made the games in hand count to get into the play-offs, we played amazingly against Leeds who have sadly been relegated. We keep performing well in the Europa League a stalemate at the Etihad Stadium speaks for itself. The lads played well to keep playing 13 games in the month with 3 in consecutive days and 4 in 5 days, 2 games against Leeds in 3 days!
