JORDAN RETURNS TO ZENIT
Joe Jordan has sensationally made a return to his former team Zenit St. Petersburg today after a poor showing in last seasons Russian Premier League after previously winning it alongside the Russian Cup under Joe Jordan. The only players Jordan isn't familiar with is new big-money signing Leandro Paredes who signed for €15,000,000 and Nikolay Propenko who signed for €275,000. Zenit have consistently made profits on players since Jordan took over. Although Jordan didn't sell them, Dani Carvajal joined on a part-exchange for Hulk who is now at Porto and he has been sold to Paris Saint-Germain for €23,500,000, Eugene Konoplyanka signed for free and has been sold to Shakhtar Donetsk for €8,000,000 and Cristian Villagra who signed on a free and sold for €2,400,000 to title rivals Rubin Kazan. Jordan left at the start of last season but signed French striker Yassine Benzia on a free on a pre-contract as he did with the €4,600,000 Brazilian center-back Helton who signed from Corinthians. Benzia made 19 appearances and scored 5 last season meanwhile Helton who joined in January played 9 games. Fans and media have said Yassine Benzia and Carlos Fierro are their future front-two with another Jordan signing Salomón Rondón currently ripping it up for Zenit with 44 goals in 50 league games, he signed for €27,000,000 from Rubin Kazan. Another Jordan signing is bargain €825,000 man Zakaria Labyad who is now worth €17,000,000 at the young age of 23 years old. Argentinian attacking-midfielder Lucas Ocampos signed for €6,000,000 from AS Monaco after being left behind by the new big-money signings. The 21 year old is now worth €17,000,000. Under Jordan, Michy Batshuayi scored 11 goals in 8 matches after signing for €9,000,000 from Standard Leige but his form dipped under Oleg Blokhin.
Now Jordan is in the exact situation when he joined for his first spell, Zenit being predicted champions but not managing to get near the top. Jordan and Zenit fans will be hoping he will have the same impact as last time, let the good times roll back on say the Zenit fans.
