if a club goes bust and has to call in administrators, the FA deduct points. retarded idea, but they do it anyway.
Thank you Splundpopper for your answer.
Yeah spot on. Also why are Bayern Munich in the Premiership? LOL!

if you take a closer look, the premier league is modified.inter,roma,juventus,milan......probably the european super league available for download on the site.
That looks quite fun. BUT where do all the other teams go?

Everyone seems to hate this rule but it's not such a stupid idea. When a club goes into administration or indeed any business administrator are appointed to sell the club and/or repay as much of the debt as they can recover. If a buyer was found they would pay the debts if not the clubs assets would be sold such as the players and the stadium. However, neither one of these will repay all the debts so somewhere along the line someone looses out. This could be other clubs who are owed transfer money and the British government who are owed taxes.

The rule is there to stop clubs going into administration except as a very last resort. A good example of why we need this rule is Man utd (or indeed any club in debt). If the Glazers wanted to the could banrupt Man Utd and put it into administration. The administrators would either try to find a buyer or sell off the clubs assets. However as Man Utd are in anywhere between £600 and £800m in debt not all this money would be recovered and clubs such as Tottenham wouldn't receive all the transfer fees they are owed for Berbatov and possibley Carrick. But what is more likely is that the Glazers buy the club from the administrators and settle some of the debt, however, this isn't likely to be much (if at all) more than 10% as in the case of leeds.

very true-good answer.
well done on justifying a hypothetical, but unrealistic scenario of preventing manyoo from going into admin. now try and justify luton town being deducted 30 points, and looking a dead cert for back to back relegations. administration - relegation - selling assets - penalty - inevitable relegation - sale of more assets - possible re-entering administration - another penalty?
Its not really fair on a small club now is it?

Money shouldnt be part of whats going on the pitch.
I mean the players in lower league have jobs plus they play football. And they just crush their dreams by taking it all away from them.

The FA only care about the big clubs and the money. Then don't give a shit about the rest. And thats what pisses me off.

I mean look at the top teams, if they do something bad they get a fine of maybe "25,000".

25,000 for them is NOTHING. 25,000 is like a penny for them.
While a lower league would get the same fine but they dont have billions otherwise.

You are kidding me right. Luton had 10 points deducted for breaching regulations over agents' fees which is a completely different arguement. The 20 point deduction was because they hadn't managed to arrange a Company Voluntary Agreement i.e. Luton had no agreement in place to pay off their debts, again a different arguement. TBH i'm not sure i agree with the 20 point deduction, afterall for Luton to play in the league they had to commit to pay back some of the money they owed which is effectively the point of the CVA. However, as i said before this won't be much and indeed it wasn't, the Football League forced them to to pay back 16 pence in every pound they owed. Is it really fair that other football clubs and business will lose money because Luton is poorly run? and this is hardly a one off, they have been in administration three times in the past 10 years

It's not fair on the other football clubs and businesses which allow the clubs to pay them in installments and then loose money when the club goes into administration, is it?

I don't think it really matters that "money shouldn't be be part of whats going on the pitch" The simple fact is that it is and rules and regulations must reflect this fact accordingly.

It is also worth noting that in the case of Luton the 10 point deduction was handed down by the FA and the 20 point deduction by the Football League. As for the "FA only care about the big clubs and the money" the The Football League is self-governing i.e. it is not controlled by the FA, so that point is null and void.

As for the rest of your arguemnet i totaly agree, I was only talking about the 10 point deduction for going into administration.

well ye- i agree 30 points is really really harsh. Give that to man u who won the prem last year, and if they had the same results they would have finished 7th-only ahead of pomepy by a (Admitttedly large) goal Difference.
