Club History

Worksop Town Football Club are a semi-professional English football club from Worksop, Nottinghamshire who play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. The club claims to have been founded in 1861, which would make it the fourth oldest football club in the world today, behind Sheffield FC, founded in 1857 Cray Wanderers and Hallam FC, both founded in 1860.
The club were based at Sandy Lane, but in May 2008 were forced to relocate to Hucknall Town's Watnall Road ground. This agreement ended in May 2009 and a new agreement was reached with Ilkeston Town. During May 2010, it was announced that for the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons, they would be playing at Retford United's Cannon Park ground. However, after completing work on their original home, they will begin to play in Worksop again in the 2011–12 season.

Mark Shaw Resigns As Worksop Town Manager

Mark Shaw has shocked the Worksop Town faithful by leaving the club, he only joined two weeks ago. This leaves Worksop's fans wondering what happened to their old manager after such a short exit. Interviewed by the Worksop Guardian Mark Shaw had this to say "I am very sorry to the Worksop fans, board by this short exit, my head is just not in the right place to take the job I wish good luck to Worksop in the future in getting a new manager and results wise too"The odds for the next manager are down below

Steve McLaren 2/1 (FAV)
Michael Owen 3/1
Chris Wilder 5/1
Billy Davies 7/1
Roberto Martinez 12/1
Hooray! I love a Non league story. I myself began my story in The Western Premier League and currently my team is heading for promotion to the Blue Square Prem. Good luck with this I'll be following.
corbmiester - Thanks! I love non-league too, Worksop Town is my favorite team aswell so it makes it better :D
Love me an LLM story! Good luck!
HamoudiLFC - Thanks! Me too :D

Aston Merrygold spotted at Worksop Town's ground

It looks like Aston Merrygold - One quarter of JLS will be the next manager of Worksop Town after he was seen talking to Jason Clark, the Worksop Town chairman in their training ground. This leaves Worksop's fanbase wondering what is going in the head of the chairman by looking to bring in an uproven manager to Sandy Lane. Whatever happens in Worksop's hunt for a new manager, I guess we will find out sooner rather than later.
Great start to the story Radders and your the first person's story that ive commented on
JuanGomez - Thankyou! I am privileged to be the first one :D
It's interesting to see how you will take a boy band member into a football manager. Perhaps writing it as yourself would be a better idea.

Also, if it's a non-league club, then why are the odds for Steve McLaren so high. Was it his hometown club?

Anyway, best of luck to you. A LLM story is always challenging
tbendis - I said he was 'spotted' at the training ground, I didn't say he was appointed manager. For McLaren, it feels like he has managed every club so I thought why not put him favourite of Worksop. Thanks for commenting :D

Unproven Manager Mitchell Radford New Worskop Manager

It has been reported bu the Worksop Guardian that Mitchell Radford has been revealed as the new Worksop Town manager. Worksop fans are shocked that Jason Clark has appointed a manager that knows very little about football. When interviewed by Worksop Guardian Radford had this to say "I am ecstatic to take this position,I was a childhood fan of Worksop now I can't believe I am going to manage them!" We will have to wait and see if this appointment is the right one by Jason Clark or a BIG mistake.

It's good that he wasn't... Don't like starts like that...

tbendis - To be honest,after I thought about neither do I :D
