Celtic have announced that Scottish legend, Kenny Dalglish will become the club's new manager. The role at Celtic has been available since Neil Lennon's departure to take over the Republic of Ireland post last week. Dalglish is a legend at Celtic Park having played 204 times for the Celts scoring 112 goals in his 8 year spell between 1969 and 1977. Dalglish has been out of management since 2012 after only a year in charge of Liverpool. Dalglish: "I feel very honoured and privileged to be given the chance here. Celtic have always been a club in my heart and I want to be the man that keeps the good times and success going at the club".
Great choice of manager! Good luck!

Celtic star, Victor Wanyama has completed a £13m move to Portuguese giants, Benfica. Wanyama, aged 21, moves to Benfica after short negotiations with Benfica representatives after Celtic boss, Kenny Dalglish confirmed the club had accepted a £13m offer from Benfica last week. Dalglish: "Obviously it's disappointing for us to lose someone of Victor's quality but I felt that the offer was just far too good to turn down. We've still players like Scott Brown, Beram Kayal, Joe Ledley etc that can all play where Victor did so I don't think it's a dramatic loss. With this money we can now look to strengthen our squad in other areas and build an overall stronger team".

Celtic have finalised the deal to bring Rosenborg defensive midfielder, Jonas Svensson to Celtic Park for a fee of £300k. The 19-year-old Norwegian born midfielder is tipped to be an extremely exciting prospect by some Norwegian reports and completed his 4-year-deal move this afternoon. Svensson: "I am delighted to sign for Celtic. I have dreamed about playing for a team like this for years and I am happy to have seized my dream at such a young age. I want to do well and improve as I get older here and impress the manager and the fans".

Further transfer activity at Celtic Park has been completed today after Ecuadorian winger, Jefferson Montero completed a 5-year-contract at the Glasgow club. The fee paid triggered Montero's £1.3m release clause on his contract at Mexican side, Morelia. Montero has made over 190 appearances at club level at the age of just 22 and played for 9 clubs scoring 44 goals from wide midfield. Montero also has 27 international caps and 6 goals for Ecuador and has been widely welcomed by Celtic fans. Dalglish: "This is a fantastic coup for us. Montero is a magnificent talent and I'm delighted to get him reasonably cheaply. He's got bags of experience and he's only 22 which will mean he will only improve and develop in the future and I'm sure that like myself, the Celtic fans will be ecstatic to see him do just that".
Good transfers, but losing Wanyama isn't that good..keep it up!

Newcastle have completed the signing of Celtic forward, Gary Hooper for a sum of £9m. Hooper becomes the second big name departure at Celtic Park this season following in the foot steps of Victor Wanyama who moved to Benfica earlier in the window for £13m. Jefferson Montero and Jonas Svensson are two young talents who have joined Celtic for a collected sum of £1.6m but manager, Kenny Dalglish has hinted that more deals will be done at the club. Hooper: "It's tough for me to say goodbye. Celtic are a fantastic club with fantastic fans and my team there was absolutely terrific. I'll never forget anything about the club, the players or the fans but I've now got a fantastic opportunity to play in the best league in the world for another great club and for me that was just too good to say no".

Celtic have snapped up Israeli striker, Omar Damari from Hapoel Tel-Aviv after triggering the £2.6m release clause in his contract. Dalglish previously admitted that Celtic needed to strengthen their attacking options and will be hoping that Damari who netted 17 times last season will help them in that department.
Nice, I will be be following this. C'mon Celtic!
