Stevenage FC were on the brink of greatness for many years winning back-to-back promotions in the Blue Square Bet Premier and npower League 2. Many believed after their solid showings in both leagues that the Championship would be their next stop. These were short sighted predictions as Graham Westley the manager at the time left in search of higher and more reputable management. This created an overall turbulence in the club as many key players left in pursuit of similar fame.

Former Colorado Rapids manager Gary Smith took the seat at Stevenage for the 2012-13 season. He started off his at the Boro well keeping the club in the top six for multiple months. Yet slowly the club conceded many poor performances which led them to sitting in a underwhelming place of 15th. Shortly after Chairman Phil Wallace released this statement "After a very promising start with a new squad, we have slipped alarmingly and the Board are concerned that the present management team may be unable to deliver the clubs vision of increasing attendances and developing players in a winning environment"

This put the club in yet another turnover stage as they looked for someone to take over the vacant position at the club again. Many believe Westley could be on his way back but, with his ill leave many fans would rather he didn't return. It is up to the board, but whatever their choice is they better hope for a drastic change as many fans believe the club should be throwing its weight around in the Championship by now.

You didn't talk about the FA Trophy loss, to Barrow (My hometown team) :(
