Hello World!

Hello guys! I’m KingPadster, also known as Paddy and as you can tell, I’m fresh blood here on the forums. I’m 19, half English & Portuguese (Euro 2004 & World Cup 2006 was one heck of an experience for me) and I support Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon.

But enough about who I am, let me get straight to the point. I’m a huge fan like everyone else of the Football Manager series and over the past couple of months I’ve come across some great football manager stories (late, I know). Some are truly addictive and I always fancied giving it a shot. Since I’m studying Sports Journalism and Creative Writing, I felt this would be the perfect opportunity for me to get some experience and directly collate some feedback from you guys.

Therefore to aid my FM addiction, I want to start story writing across a whole platform of communities for you guys right here!

I’ll aim to write in a typical manner that I know we all enjoy, tapping in with unexpected scenario’s to add a twist to the game and hopefully keep you guys hooked.

So it’s over to you guys to decide where I start. I don’t exactly have a preference as to what team to start with but I’m open to many possibilities.

I was hoping someone would ask for Basel lol. Nice to see you have a Cambridge United Story too, I had trials with them when I was younger.

Woah that's pretty sweet! What position do you play? Have a read of my stories if you have time

If you want to do a lower league challenge, I suggest trying Sutton United.

Back on topic, again, welcome to FM Scout. For your story, I would recommend a club that has fallen from glory, and try to take them back to the top. For example, a club like Liverpool. It would be interesting to read a Liverpool story because I'm a huge fan of them obviously, and because I've not seen a quality Liverpool story on this site for awhile. Maybe you can change that?

Personally, I'd be interested in a story with minnows in the Championship, someone like Barnsley or Bristol City, especially if executed well. But to be honest, I'd read a story with almost any team if the story is good. If you pick a big team it becomes too cliché, but on the other hand, if you pick a team that no one has ever heard of, its probable that you will get lesser views than you may have hoped - especially from non-members.

Anyway, welcome to FMScout, and good luck with your first story! Also, as Glenn said, pop up on chat once in a while, it's (usually ) a nice place to hang out.

First off, hi and welcome to the site, i'm a relative newbie too but have already become addicted to some of these stories (including my own *cough* check it out *cough*).

My suggestion was attempting to mirror Malaga's Champions League success or better it... reckon you are up to the challenge?

Why do people always go for teams in england lower league
I suggest Diegem Sport a 3th division (i think 3th division B but im not sure it could be A)
A team that is been lingering in 3th division for a lot of years and never went ever higher than that. It would be a challenge to make them the best team in Belgium and than Europe.

Hi mate and welcome! I am almost a newbie too (I add my first ever story on this site almost one month ago)...

If I may suggest you a real challenge, go to the Lega Pro Div. 2 in Italy (4th division) and try to lead to higher leagues Savona, which is the team of my town... This year they have been promoted to the third division, so you will start with a good team...

Will do! I used to play Left Mid and Centre Mid at me local club. Unfortunately I wasn't what The U's were looking for at the time haha
