News just in at Southampton as news has emerged of Nigel Adkins resignation. Rumours have it that he was unhappy with the lack of funds given and one thing led to another and the double promotion winner walked out of the saint mary's door. Many names are linked to the job, such as Steve Kean, Alan Pardew, Alan Shearer, Mauricio Pochettino. But many expect ex-saint manager George Burley to return to the dugout. But nothing is confirmed at the club.

He is nearly always a womanising character, and you have to love him as an actor.

And now for the actual update itself:

Neil Patrick-Harris in charge of Southampton!

Hello, I am the host of the new sky sports show Premier League bonanza, Alfred James. And today, we are here to talk about just one of the weirdest stories I think anyone has ever heard, as actor and magician Neil Patrick Harris has become the new manager of Southampton football club, despite no prior football experience. Here today with me are two of the greats in football history, first a warm welcome to current match of the day host and second highest all time england scorer Gary Linekar and Ex-Newcastle player and manager Alan Shearer, to talk about the news and later an interview with the man himself.

Lets start of with you Gary, what is your take on this story?

Well, this is definatley an interesting development. Everyone was talking about George Burley and Harry Redknapp, when from nowhere, Harris has gone to take the job. I don;t think any of us thought that he would enter this sort of profession but apparently he does want the job, and has taken the job up after leaving Bob the Builder musical. now we know he is a good actor and able to remember his lines and all that but this is a different job, and one that he will have to adapt to quickly or else he will be shown the door quickly.

Thanks Gary, now Alan, you were linked to the job early on, did you at all want the job, or did you think about staying out of management?

I was considering coming back into management and I think that the Southampton job being my former club, would have been a good job to start on and I was considering applying but I just wasn't what they wanted, yes it was dissapointing but I will back him to do well, and I sincerely believe that he will rise to the occasion of this all and make Southampton a bigger club than they are.

Thanks Alan. Now lets talk via sattelite there he is on screen, but before we talk to Neil, here is a quick clip of him at this years tony awards (remember 2012)

Neil Patrick Harris- 2012 Tony Awards.

Hello, Neil welcome to the show.

Thanks for having me, Alfred.

I would like to ask first what made you come to southampton?

definately not TheMS99 playing football mannager. I wanted a change and when I heard about the job as a football manager I thought great as unknown to everyone I am actually a big fan of Southampton and the youth products they have produced other the years have gone on the be famous like Bale and Walcott and there are still some that have yet to become big like Luke Shaw and James Ward-Prowse. This is a club that are ready to become great and I wanted to become big.

I see. Was it hard coming over to England and taking on a new job?

In a way yes, cause David and I were settled in America but times change and when you love someone, they will come with you to where ever you go, and that's why I love him, and why it won't be hard settling into Southampton.

Thank you very much Neil. Well thats all have time for so I leave you with more from Neil Patrick Harris in the past, I am Alfred James, and this has been premier league BONANAZA!

He loves roosters ;)
Now now Neil, Kaley Cuoco is hosting.

Southampton confim new signings:

Southampton manager Neil Patrick Harris has quickly spent the money he was given in a big chance to improve an already good Southampton squad.

Southampton started off by adding former birmingham and everton striker James McFadden on a free transfer. The scot is said to be impressed with the aims of Harris and is ready to play for the saints and score the goals that keep them up.

Next up is Stoke player Glenn Whelan signed on loan for £35 grand a month. The box to box midfielder has also got a £3 million automatic accepted price. The man is expected to make an impression in order to help the saints stay up.

Next, is £2 million striker Marc Antoine Fortune. Having made an original impact on loan at West Brom, he moved to Celtic before returning to West Brom. Now unwanted by Steve Clarke, Harris has snapped up the french man to increase his attacking options.

Next are two stars for the future have joined the club, first up we have brazilian Wellington Nem for £3. 5 million from fluminese, the brazilian is expected to become one of the best of the world rivalling Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Next youngster is Neal Maupay, from Nice for £675k. The srtiker is expectated to get a score as many goals in his career as Wayne Rooney and Kenny Dalglish.

Next is a big one according to the kit men and shop owners who expect this one to increase the revenue of sales. Razvan Rat, the romanian joins from Shakhtar Donetsk for £2. 9 million, and is expected to add power to an average defense.

The last two for now are a loan signing from Dortmund and a free signing. The loanee is first, introducing Marc Hornschuh and is expectated to improve an average defence despite being in his early 20's. Next is former Stuttgart man Fernando Meira. The defender is reaching the end to his career but Harris evedently sees something in the 34 year old.

Meanwhile, Harris made rid of a number of unwanted players listed below:
Great start mate love the interview and some very good signings in Nem and Maupay

Saints and Chelsea serve up a cracker!

Neil Patrick Harris said that the game with Chelsea was one of the most exciting games of football he has watched, as his southampton side failed to hold a two goal lead against european champions Chelsea.

Southamton went in front when Jos Hooiveld headed in after a 13th minute Nem corner, and a mistake by John Terry allowed Rickie Lambert to score his third goal already this season. But before the break goal shy Fernando Torres netted from fellow spanish player Juan Mata. After the break crackers from tight angles put chelsea 3-2 ahead as Ramires and Sturridge found the net. But, Southampton weren't out of the match yet. Jack Cork missed an absolute sitter after he got the ball from a Cech clearence with the goal gaping, before Terry was penalised for fouling Hooiveld, in a controversial decision. Lambert scored his fourth of the season already with the penalty as both sides left Stamford Bridge with a point.

It has been a good start for Harris so far, and makes it look a good choice he was appointed. His pre-season was a bit mixed for fans, as they won the opening three games, but lost the following three, with the 5-1 defeat to Cardiff branded "an embarrassment to fans of the club" by Harris himself.

Rumours have it Harris has been informed by advisors and his scouts of Wallace's potential, and fans are happy to have signed the youngster. (£1 million with £5 million more over 48 months)

What the hell happened with Cardiff? :/
2013-05-23 08:22#104076 Glenn T : What the hell happened with Cardiff? :/

No idea, we just weren't ourselves that game. Although you will love this. I set my players to play for the reserves....when we were facing our reserves. basically, my starters where in my reserves and the game generated players that mean you can do the game, where my starters. we lost 3-0. kind of why it wasn't in the screenshot above.
Why are screenshots so zoomed in and blurry? Nice story though mate.
I don't quite get your characters link to football but it will be interesting to see if you can change my initial opinion. Good luck.
