Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have announced that manager Jurgen Klopp has been sacked with immediate effect.

The club said on Tuesday night that they have taken the decision following a season review and weighing up managerial prospects.

Klopp was told of his sacking today, after reaching the Champions League Final last season.

He said: "I think Dortmund have a great story forever, because we have built a platform for whoever the new manager will be.

"Unfortunately I didn't make the boards requirement of competing for the league and Bayern dominated from the outset. They were not too happy with the departure of Mario Gotze either, especially at the semi final stage. I would like to say thanks to the fans and good luck to the new manager."

Klopp led Dortmund to the Champions League Final last season but, following their loss to Bayern in the league, Jurgen "Norbert" Klopp, his assistant manager and a few coaches were all fired.
Good luck! (1st!)

Sammer back for more

In a dramatic turn of events, Dortmund legend Matthias Sammer, 45, has rejoined the club for his second stint as manager on a five year deal.

Sammer, who was working as sport director of FC Bayern Munich just before the switch occurred, says he has been hurt by recent happening at Dortmund.

He said: "I think Dortmund are the best club in Germany and if people don't believe that, I will make them. Bayern signed me as a coach when times were friendly between the two clubs, but now it is nothing of the sort. I am disgusted at Bayern as a club and I will show them exactly how we as a club will respond to the theft of our players. I am sure Gotze will be having fun at Bayern at the moment. A few seasons down the line, he will realise what a poor choice he has made. Times have changed but my tactics will be perfect for the club. I will make this club into champions around the world once again. THERE WILL BE NO MERCY!!!"

Sammer joined Borussia Dortmund from Inter Milan in 1993.

In 1996 he capped off those tremendous consecutive Bundesliga titles by being named the European Footballer of the Year and winning the European Championship with Germany.

He then went on to win the Champions League with Dortmund the following season.

In 2000, two years after retiring due to injury, he became Dortmund’s manager. He then led them to another Bundesliga title and reached the UEFA Cup final in 2002.
This looks quality, great start and fantastic bringing back Sammer!
A great start to a story. Long may it continue.

Assistant Manager

"I have decided to release current assistant manager Zeljko Buvac. Yes I am aware he is extremely technically gifted in regards to tactics and working with the players; however, I do believe that the same traits that I possess, Buvac also possesses - there is no need for two of us. Bruno Demichelis is the man who I would like to take over the spot. He has the ability to spot a great player and he has great vision when it comes to players of the future - extremely great traits that are needed for a successful club; we will work great in tandem. I would like to thank Buvac for all his work and I will be trying to sign him up as a coach if he would like to stay at the club" - Matthias

Tactics

"We will be using the formation above for the whole season unless anything goes wrong. Fast, fluid, attcking football will be the aim with lots of goals. With a small 2.5 million budget we will have to sell a few players with the wingers looking the most likely to go. Reus will be retrained to a CAM or a Striker in order to fit into the formation - he is too valuable to lose. We will need the youth team players to step up right away. With only 20 first team players at the moment and a fair few leaving; we will need some refreshment and fresh legs to keep the squad buzzing." - Matthias

Update

First Friendly

Youth System

Nice one getting your youth facilities upgraded, not that Dortmund's youths are bad at all :P

A good first friendly too :)
