AFC Bournemouth – The Matt Wells Era

About The Story

Well guys I have a great history with the South Coast and football and AFC Bournemouth and I go way back. In FM12 I took them to the Champions League Final and I had great success. This story will be about taking the club to the top and also see how the manager develops in his personal life and his in his managerial skills. I am 100% committed to this so please stick with me as I stick by you.

Who Will the Manager Be

I am going to be myself as I can try and see how my coaching career will develop and how me as a person develops. As some of you know I am studying for my coaching badges in a few weeks and this is my career path. I want to coach the greats and maybe even become a manager at one stage so hopefully I can succeed and maybe one day appear on FM.

Eddie Howe Leaves for Burnley

AFC Bournemouth have announced that manager Eddie Howe has left the club to join Burnley as the new manager at Turf Moor. The deal comes after weeks on speculation that Howe would join Burnley and leave his job at Bournemouth. Many fans are upset that such a great hero of the club has decided to leave but they wish him well for the future.

“We are sad to see Eddie go but we know it will work out for him”, said the clubs spokesperson. “We are hoping that Eddie has a successful career at Burnley and we wish him well for the future. We had many good times with Eddie and will always be remembered as a great servant of the club”.

“We don’t know who will be the new manager but we feel that a young and fresh manager should take the reins at the club. We have been used to having a young manager and another youthful face could add more spark into the team”.

Many pundits are speculation on who the new manager could be but no one really knows a thing about who the next Bournemouth gaffer could be.

Tony Adams: I feel that Neil Warnock would be a great fit. He has tons of experience and that is what the Bournemouth squad need at this time. He could do a great job there.

Alan Hansan: I feel that a big name may step into the job. Possibly Di Matteo may drop down the leagues and bring a fresh new look to the Bournemouth team.

Lee Dixon: Well to be fair there are no good young managers around in this country so I would place my money on an internal appointment at the club.

My Time To Shine

“Tackle him”! “Break his legs”! “Oh for fucks sake how can you let that in your useless the whole lot of you”! 15-0. I was heartbroken. As coach of Midway FC U9’S I knew had to give them a good lashing of the hairdryer treatment. I sat them down and did a few paces around them and then began,

“How can you let that mong score? He is a centre forward and wears glasses for god sake. How can you play that bad! I am disgusted, no one put in any effort there. When I played for this team I gave 100% whatever the game. You have let yourselves down and my down. I stuck by you and I tried to make you all better but you turn and laugh in my face! YOU ARE A BUNCH OF NIT WITS!!!”.

I stopped for a second to pause to notice a strange old man watching the kids play football but he was staring right at me. I instantly knew who we was, he was a paedophile and we had a similar incident some years back and we had to call the police.

“Can you leave please”? I shouted. “You must leave”!

He then stood up and started to walk towards the children.

“Excuse me what do you want”? I said.

“Are you Matt Wells”? he asked.

“Yes sir I am. Now can you please leave”!

“My name is John Steinbeck and I work for AFC Bournemouth FC”.

He must have been a scout, he must be looking at one of our players, but who?

“I need to talk to you in private sir”?

“Okay then” I replied and we headed over to the bench to have chat…….
Hehe, why do you automatically assume he's a paedo? And you might want to use a diferrent pic for once?

HAHA Well he was an old man at an kids game and I shall change my pic :P

The Moment That Changed My Life

We had been sat on the bench for around 10 minutes just talking about football and the game in general. He was a nice man and I scraped by views that he was after the kids. He was calm and reassured me that it was for a good reason that he was here.

“As you may know we are looking for a new manager, we wanted someone young and passionate about the game and a player in the U18’S recommended that we looked for you. He said that he played under your management for a few years and he knows you have great talent”.

“So what are you saying then”? I replied.

“I am here to take you down to Bournemouth where you will have an interview about a coaching role at the club. I shall drive you down and your hotel fees will be paid by the club”.

“Oh right so like a U18’S Coach then”?

“No”, he replied. “We are interested in appointing you as full time manager of AFC Bournemouth and we want to give you an interview about the job”.

I was speechless, I was wanted by a big club. I knew the club quite well as I used to play with them on Football Manager a lot and I had great success there. This was the opportunity that I needed and it could show the world that a unknown manager could succeed in the big wide world.

“Well yes of course I shall come with you”.

“Great he replied. Right this way”.
Great update! Keep it up :)

Wells To Take Charge At Bournemouth

Bournemouth have appointed an unknown manager named Matt Wells. The 32 year old is a complete stranger to the big stage and most fans are upset that such a young and inexperienced manager has taken charge at the club. Many fans are very upset about the appointment and are going to protest against the Chairman, Eddie Mitchell and new boss, Matt Wells.

Wells only gave a quick speech to the press but he immediately signalled his intentions for his time at Bournemouth,

“I want to take this team to the top. I always look to the future and I always believe that a club should have a long term plan. I feel that I have a great team here already and with 1 or 2 new signings then we can easily push for promotion this season”.

“I understand that fans are unhappy about my appointment but I can reassure them that I am here for the long term. I have only been given a one year contract but I will be looking to extend that if this season is a success. I want to bring Premier League football to Bournemouth and I know we can do it, all I need is support from you guys”.

“I have always aspired to be a great manager”, said Wells. “I look up to the likes of Wenger, Ferguson and Mourinho. I know I can get to the top. I know I can become a great. I know that if I have support I can be a great manager”.

Many bookies have made odds of 5/2 for Matt Wells to have been sacked by October.
A very good start to this story. I can't say I know much about Bournemouth...I can't even tell you what league they are in without searching. I hope it's a successful season for you and you beat the harsh bookies odds.
