The New Gunners

Steve Mandanda

http://www.africatopsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Steve-Mandanda-Wallpapers-6.jpg

A very well experienced goalkeeper who caught Campbell's eye with not only his experience but also his stats show well enough. And with Szczesny being only twenty-two, Campbell believed that more experince was required in the goalkeeper department! He has joined for a fee of over 11m and will wear the No.13 jersey.

Steve Mandanda told French TV:"I am very happy to have joined Arsenal, I have always wanted to live in England. Especially in London. Arsenal is a club with great history and I think they have a great squad and I really want to help them reach higher in the league!"

"He is a great player" Campbell told Arsenal TV, "I really hope he will make Wojciech work harder to earn a first team spot. He does have great qualities which will hopefully help us progress further in the Premier League!"

Stevan Jovetic

This goal scoring machine has a great record for scoring goals which caught Sol Campbell's eye. Campbell even hinted towards Jovetic in his first ever interview as Arsenal coach which was broadcasted on Arsenal TV before being shown on Sky Sports News.

Stevan spoke to Italian TV telling them:"You know, I love Italy, I have really enjoyed y time here, but when you have to leave you have to leave. Arsenal is a great club with some quality player and some that have some great potential!"

Coach Sol Campbell told Sky Sports:"Stevan is simply a player of great quality with a great quality of finishing, composure and most of all, plain quality. This signing will be worthwhile when you see him on the field of play. He is absolute class!"

Leighton Baines

This left-back has shown a huge amount of quality for Everton over the last few years, and this has surely been noticed by the recently appointed Arsenal manager Sol Campbell. He has signed for the Gunners fee a price of around 21.5m and will wear the No.23 shirt.

Baines told Everton TV: "I have loved my time at Everton and really had some great times and memories at this club but when you're offered to go to a club like Arsenal; you have no choice but to accept it. I wish Everton the best for the future!"

Manager Sol Campbell told BBC Sport:"I believe that Leighton is one of the best left-backs in not only England but also the world. He has such great qualities in not just defending but also in attacks down the wing which is a position we really do need reinforcements in!"

Ryan Shawcross

"A very underrated centre-back" was the way that Sol Campbell described him. That being the reason why he signed him up for a big price-tag of 18.5m. However, despite wanted either a number 5 or 6, with Koscielny and Vermaelen being valued by Campbell as his first choice centre backs, Shawcross will have to wear No.20.

Ryan himself spoke to Talk-Sport saying:"Stoke is a club where I have loved being at but all good things come to an end and that is the way I look at it and to work with Arsenal and with some great players and coaches; I couldn't turn it down"

The manager who signed him Sol Campbell spoke to Sky Sports, telling them:"Where do I start, he is a great defender who really can give strikers a tough time when attacking which we really need. He has great qualities on the field with good heading and tackling and other more important skills such as work rate and determination which is what we need!"
Hey guys,

Most of you may know that people think that my City Life story was the best I ever wrote, and I agree. However I have not achieved the same success on this one so far. So I am asking you for some advice. What should I do to make this as good as City Life. Please do comment below for advice, because as a young writer, I need this to help me develop as a writer.

I do hope you can give me some advice to make me a better writer because all I want to do is improve even more.
Some great signings. I think you are doing well so far and I hope you can continue this up as I too am thinking about an Arsenal story :P

Thoughts from the Sol

A very good pre-season, some good wins, but of cause two defeats against SLB which was a tough game because the first ten minutes we dominated but then they woke up before turning it around and against Academica conceding in the eight-ninth minute which we a gutted about.

But I think think that we will go into our first game against Swansea at the Emirates where I am confident we will get a great start! The new signings are impressing me, Ryan is strong at the back, Jovetic has shown some great quality attacking, we have seen quite a bit of Steve in goal and he looks solid but we have seen a bit of Baines but because my main formation is 3-5-2, it is hard to fit him in unless on the left-wing which he is not too conformable on.

INDEX:
Y = YOUTH PLAYER

Arsenal announce 2012/13 Season Kits

R=Reporter
SM=Steve Mandanda (speaking French)

R:Hello Steve, welcome to "The Signings Speak; we are going to do the class six question quiz with you when we ask you six things about you're move to Arsenal.
SM: Ok.

R:Right, first of all; you said you always wanted to live in London when you spoke to the French press. Why is that?
SM:London to me is such an iconic City with such great landmarks and also, my life is football, and England is the heart of Football. So why not?

R:You signed for Arsenal for a fee of over 11 million. Do you feel pressure knowing that Arsenal got Szczsney for a free (from youth team)?
SM:You could say that there is pressure that is expected upon but I am a person that is not worried by pressure and will want to thrive under it.

R:Now, have you spoke to Sol about being first choice or second choice because in some of the friendlies Szczsney did play. Are you guaranteed a first place spot?
SM:I have spoke with Sol about it and he told me that to be first choice, you need to play like second choice. Meaning that if you show that you are trying desperately, you will get your chance to shine!

R:How have you settled in with the squad. Do you have any favorite players or any players you tend to get on with?
SM: (laughs). Yes, there are a few; Sagna because I know him from France international duty and a couple of the coaches from Wenger's time here were French so they help me out and being from the same nation and speaking the same language; it helps me communicate with the team.

R:I know I probably won't get an answer. But, could you give us any clues ahead of of the Swansea game and who is playing?
SM:(bites lip, then sighs) To be honest, no one know who is playing except for whether it is yourself.

R:Finally, are you going to be a sub, or could you be starting between the sticks for the opening fixture at the Emirates?
SM:Wait and see!
