Nugggs Chelsea
Nugggs was looking for more than 2-0 wins and I thought my tactic was perfect for his Worldclass team to do exactly that.
Tactic:
let your best set piece takers take the corners and freekicks. I like inswinging corners and freekicks but you can also do it outswinging.
Keep in mind I've rotated in all cup matches and the last CL match. Played 25 competitive matches (NO friendlies) and these are the results:
Red card? Don't care!
Chelsea League table:
Chances
Liverpool Holiday all season 5x
I have tested the tactic with Liverpool season 1 in FM Touch and played the 1st season five times. Did not set training and only set main GK in preferred formation, no transfers. Set the tactic and went on holiday for the whole season. Achieved average 80% winrate. Won the league every year, won carabao 4/5 times, Champions League 2/5 times and lost 2 finals. Average home points per game 2.75 and away 2.26. Conceded .62 goals and scored 2.7 per game.

My main save is my Feyenoord save and these are the results of a full season:
If your opponent only defends and counters you can go balanced instead of attacking
Player Requirements
WBs - good at both attacking and defending. crossing, dribbling, first touch, passing, tackling, technique, vision, pace, stamina, positioning, off the ball, Marking, Anticipation, Work Rate and Decisions will be essential.
CBs - Good ball playing defenders. With great balance, agility, anticipation and speed. strong in the air, good at tackling. heading, bravery, strength, balance, positioning, marking, teamwork, concentration and decisions will be important.
Mezzalas - Your Mezzalas on Attack need to be good at dribbling, first touch, long shots, passing, technique and hopefully finishing. Must have good anticipation, composure, decisions, flair, off the ball, vision and workrate. Good physicals are preffered and good player traits are tries killer balls often, shoots from distance (if he has longshots) and likes ball played into feet.
DM - First touch, passing, tackling and technique. Good physicals and preferably good anticipation, composure, decisions, positioning, teamwokr, vision and workrate. Good player trait is tries killer balls often.
IFs - Dribbling, finishing, first touch, long shots, passing and technique. Good physicals + anticipation, composure, flair, off the ball and vision are needed. Good player traits: moves into channels, likes ball played into feet, cuts inside from right/left wing.
AF - Good traits to have: runs with ball through centre, moves into channels, places shots, plays one-twos. Mentals: anticipation, composure, decisions, off the ball and workrate.
Training I sometimes use RDFs template or my own depending on the amount of matches in a week.
Just 1 match?
2 matches?
And RDFs zero matches schedule:
I always train players in the positions I play + I take control of individual training and their player traits to train (for example likes ball played into feet.)
as you can see in this example with Camavinga
Good luck everybody and have fun!

Currently unbeaten in the EPL using Chelsea
What about if you are huge underdog or clearly the inferior side, what would you do then?
"Don't change the roles/tempo; I have tested this tactic with multiple teams for 20+ seasons and changing the mentality temporarily to balanced should be enough".
You see my point now?
Requires testing with underdogs & much poorer teams in order to decide if just a lowering of the mentality by one notch will provide enough defensive cover (It definitely won't). You've tested for your level only, many managers play at a much lower level.
All changing mentality will do is alter your risk level. For your tactic to go defensive enough you would need some of your support duties to be changed to defense duties.
Your full backs for example, if you are leaving them on WBS with a balanced mentality they will get caught out too far forward against attacking wingers in a 4-3-3.
Managers use other teams that are inferior to Liverpool & Chelsea where you can potentially get away with being so forward thinking.
Who are your 20+ seasons of testing with?
I think I give in.
