Our wage spend had gone up by £300 p/w. I had to sign staff. We had no scouts and no youth staff, so that had to change. I brought in a Scout of very good ability for this level, and a new Head of Youth Development to help bring in as high a quality youth intake as possible. These staff are crucial with regards to locating players for the club to sign. I was confident that the increased risk of financial failure was outweighed by the new staff's ability to find players who would take us out of trouble and into paradise.
