Control The World tactical series continues with Football Manager 2020 tactics inspired by Guardiola. CTW tactic recreated for FM2020.
As you know, Pep is my favorite tactician, he is the master, the philosopher!

I have tailored these tactics after Josep Guardiola's philosophy.
Created for everyone who prefers high amount of possession.
With the ball I like my players to patiently build up the play with shorter passes at players feet working the ball around until space opens up.

Training tips
Use 2 weeks tactical, 1 week ball control and 1 week attacking per month. But this comes down to analysis of your squad, periodic performance analysis of areas your team might struggle with.

Even though I focus my training on attacking, tactics and possession, most of the goals that I score come from set-pieces, and for some reason, my striker Odsonne Édouard (who possesses great technical and mental attributes), is getting the worst rates game after game.
But I struggle with "easy" games.. Worst I loose it !
On the other hand, I win more games against stronger teams.
I agree on the two Mezzalas, at least one of them should be in an attacking role.
To really recreate what Pep does and did, we should have 2 or 3 tactics that we can use based on opponents.
from the point of possession and control of the game this tactic is a MASTERPIECE but I feel there's still some work to be done to be more efficient. 'm struggling to score goals especially against small teams.I hope you can find a way to create a successful tactic with dominating possession and efficient style of football
I've tested it with Bayern in the German league. So far results are a mixed bag. We always control possession (between 60 and 70 percent) but especially against teams who park the bus we're struggling to create clear chances. I might win 1-0 or 2-0 against smaller teams like Paderborn or Augsburg but it's not like we're really dominating those teams like Bayern did under Guardiola.
I agree that this is a good replication of how Guardiola's team plays, but to make this tactic more efficient within the current ME, some tweaks are still needed to create more chances with your front-3.
I've experimented with changing the HB-d role to a more supporting role like DLP-s or REG-s against smaller teams at home. While this can certainly help to put more pressure on your opponent's midfield, it still didn't lead to more goals or more clear chances.
This year's ME seems to be geared more towards Gegenpressing and more direct attacking play, like Liverpool and Leipzig play. If we can find a way to create a successful tactic with dominating possession-style football, I'm all for it - I just feel there's still some work to be done.
