[FM26] Cartagena - Fantasy League System - 100+ of new teams

Intro

In a fantasy world, Cartagena rises to conquer Gibraltar and expand into the empty Sahara. Today, its people find entertainment in football. Its rich cities have given birth to hundreds of football teams, but only 20 can play in the Liga Royale, with the others having to rise through the ranks of the 5 leagues to get a spot. The Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League welcome these new challengers, who must fight their way out of coefficient hell.

A little project backstory

I started this project in FM13 as a very small personal job. I later moved everything to FM16 and began expanding the league system. In FM19 and then later on FM21, I worked hard to expand this project and create unique teams, stadiums, players and staff, logos, kits, colours, cups and more tiers of the pyramid. After its big success in FM24, I have spent extensive time to give it polish, fine tune the details, and add more flavour all over for a fully custom experience.

Some of the teams

• San Ramirez - The star of Cartagena. A rich, elegant and respected team, but not liked by many.
• Usulutàn - A very strong rival to San Ramirez and contender for the title, with a great financial backbone.
• Santa Ana de Alzate - A strong title contender that respects its Cartaginian origins, with a family-like core of players.
• Delgado - The smallest but the richest of the top 4. Its spending powers and big name pull are a constant threat to the top 4.
• Keep an eye on Estudiantes, a team that fell down into the 4th division, but is one of the fiercest in the country. They recently gained significant funding and they are looking to reclaim their rightful place in Liga Royale.
• A new contender in the 3rd division - Red Bull Marisa - with its own RB branding and partnerships with the other RB teams.

Each team has their own manager, assistant manager and staff, all assigned from the real-life unemployed list. So you will see some interesting battles between familiar names like Zidane, Maresca, van Bommel, Ange and so on.
I'm constantly updating the team managers based on real life movements so there is no interference with real life clubs.

Realistic player movement

Players

Most of the teams will start out largely empty, so you can get full freedom in building your squad at the start of your save.
There are over 140 custom players added, all with custom faces. Most of them are regens with a story from my past FM saves, with some familiar easter eggs here and there. This is so the teams don't suffer a "bad squad" penalty when trying to sign players.

I strongly recommend turning off "add players to playable teams" when setting up your save for the best experience.

The leagues

Liga Royale - 20 teams
Segunda Cartagenera - 18 teams
Tercera Cartagenera - 18 teams
Cuarta División Cartagena - 20 teams
Quinta División Cartagena - 16 teams

Each team has its own unique story, stadium, kit colours, logos and even staff.
It takes a very long time to create team kits/colors so the teams below the 6th division won't have a lot of variation unfortunately.

Logos

Most of the teams from the 1st to the 3rd division have custom logos, so I highly recommend downloading the graphics pack.

Kits

New in FM26 - Every club from the top two divisions have had their custom kits revamped, with working in-game 3d kits.

Other info

I suggest leaving "do not add key staff" unchecked as most L3 and below teams don't have any staff.

Women's football

Due to limited time, there are currently no plans to add women's football into the database. If there are enough request I will consider it however.

To install: Go to Documents -> Sports Interactive - > Football Manager 2026 -> editor data and paste the file
To add logos/kits/faces: Go to Documents -> Sports Interactive -> Football Manager 2026 and paste the file from the ZIP. If you already have folders for faces, kits or logos, just paste each Cartagena sub folder into each existing relevant folder.
