What is going to happen??

A group of foreign investors that include a current owner of an MLS club will be taking over. I thought of this idea after reading that a Canadian Businessman tried to buy OM back in the 90s so I felt it would be a neat idea.

The club is Paris FC.

Info: Paris FC

Goals: My goal is to bring PFC to the top and overthrow P$G as top dogs in Paris. I will have a decent budget but it will not be as free spending as P$G.

Key of terms:
P$G: Paris Saint-Germain
PFC: FC Paris
TSX: Toronto Stock Extange
CSE: Concordia Sports & Entertainment
TSN: The Sports Network
RDS: Réseau des sports

Quebec Soccer Federation delegation in Paris

Jan 23, 2013

MONTREAL- Members of the controversial Quebec Soccer Federation were in Paris the other week meeting with members of the French Football Association over some unknown business.

Sources say that Impact de Montréal owner Joey Saputo and Politician Justin Trudeau were among the group that represented the QSF. One spokesperson of the QSF said "Everything went as planned and things are starting to look up." Other than that we were not told the reason for these meetings.

Speculation is that the QSF is trying to bring back the Trophée des champions to Montreal. The last time it was played in Canada was back in 2009 when Bordeaux beat Guingamp 2-0.
Good start. I know DeanByrne had a very successful story with Paris FC, so it will be interesting to see how they compare. Anyway, good luck :)
Haven't started the game yet. Going to try something with dates in the editor to officially start in June 2013. If that works there will be a HUGE twist in the story.

The soccer boom in Paris

April 6, 2013

For many years the sport of soccer of football as the world calls it has not been widely popular in France things are changing. Football is starting to overtake rugby as the sport of choice for many. You can thank many things like the Qatari Investment Group buying Paris Saint-Germain and billionaire Dmitry Rybolvlev's purchase in AS Monaco.

There is a club looking for new owners in the City of Lights. Championnat National side Paris FC is looking for new ownership to takeover for Pierre Ferraci who is looking for other business ventures. A recent report from the Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG) has acknowledged that there are three major front runners to takeover. Here they are

American Billionaire and real estate mogul Donald Trump.

Founder of Virgin Group Sir Richard Branson

Canadian sports group Concordia Sports & Entertainment

All three are in strong contention for the takeover that will be resolved by May First. The supporters of Paris FC do not want Trump or Branson because they do not want to be a carbon copy of PSG of Ligue 1. So many are hoping te Canadian group takes over since their plan is the most down to earth.

The DNCG, FFF and Paris FC will all have a say in this.

Concordia S&E Purchase Paris FC

April 23, 2013

Montreal based sports and entertainment group Concordia Sports & Entertainment Limited (CSEL on the TSX) added a new club to their roster. French Club Paris FC will be now owned by the group of businessmen who own the majority of sports teams in Montreal.

The deal came as a surprise since Donald Trump and Sir Richard Branson were also in the running. The decision came down to the fact supporters did not want some billionaire to use the club for their own ego. Paris already has a club drenched in wealth, Paris Saint-Germain was bought by the Qatari Investment Group in 2011.

The French Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG) who control finances for all French clubs, said that the deal was worth around $37,000,000 CAD.

The group will officially takeover the club on the first of June.

Letter from new owners

Dear fans,

First off we here at Concordia S&E are happy to be part of the club and are looking forward to bringing the club the success that you all have been craving for since the start of the club. Here is what will be new to the club.

One of the first things we are planning is a change in leadership. While Jean-Luc Vannuchi might be a good manager but we are wanting to start fresh. We thank him for his service to the club and wish him luck.

Next we have new sponsorship from Canada that will help with exposure and finances. Our apparel will be produced by Adidas. This partnership will run until the end of the 2017-18 season. Our next sponsor will be Air Canada. Air Canada will now have daily flights from Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Paris will be the new international hub for Air Canada.

Other sponsors include Government of Canada, Providence of Quebec, Bell Media, Molson-Coors Canada Inc and Saputo Inc. You all might think that we are trying to sellout the club but in truth we are not, just going to expand the market. The usual sponsors will still be part of the club.

Thank you,

Concordia Sports & Entertainment.

Meet the manager for this story

Well for the story I will be playing as the fictional Kévin Morin.

Bio:

D.O.B. 5/15/1985
Mont Royal, QC

Morin is the current head coach for L'Impact de Montreal academy team. He has been with the club since 2001 when he played goalkeeper in the academy. In the 2011 NASL season Morin retired due to a really bad ACL tear from the previous season. After retirement he was asked to join the staff of the club and said yes. Since then he has been coaching the academy and helping the club develop talent. in 2012 he obtained an "A" licence from the Canadian Soccer Association.

The beginning

Today is May 12th and I am on my way to the Complexe Sportif Marie Victorin for practice a few days before a match against rivals Toronto FC Academy. As I get to the complex my phone rings and get a call from Mr. Saputo. "Kévin can you please head over to Stade Saputo for a meeting!" "Sure I will be right there."

Hmm I wonder why he needs to see me. As I drive back towards Saputo many things are racing through my mind, "Am I getting fired?, or am getting a new job?" So I arrive to the facility and notice some of the cars from C S&E are there. I am greeted by the secretary and she tell me to go on in.

JS: "Bonjour Kévin how are you today?"

KM:'Great what is going on?"

JS: "I would like you to meet Justin Trudeau and Geoff Molson."

(Everyone shakes hands).

JT: "Kévin as you know we have purchased a club in Paris and are looking for a new manager."

KM: 'Yes, so how does this concern me?"

GM: "Well Kévin, we would like to interview you for the job."

KM: "Really, nice!!" "But I don't know if I am the right choice."

JS: "Why do you say that?"

KM: "well I never have coached a first team before, but I am willing to give it a shot."

(An hour goes by)

JT: "Well we like what we hear, it seems like a big risk but we are willing to take it."

GM; "Give us 30 minutes to figgure it out."

KM: "ok"

(I go outside the boardroom and am nervous and thioughts are racing through my head again)

(40 Minutes pass by)

S: "Kévin, you can go back in."

JT: "Well we made our decision, and it is a yes, congratulations."

JS: "we will announce the signing tomorrow here at the stadium."

JT: "You will be leaving for Paris in a week."

KM: "Thanks and see you later."
