You are breezing your way to the title!

Haha, I hope so!

September Overview

We just keep getting better and better. We scored 17 goals in this month and sit in 4th place with 3 games in hand on all the teams above us which is a great advantage to us. We are having to play at Leeds United's stadium, Elland Road because our ground is having an expansion from a 3,800 capacity ground to 5,700 capacity which will be completed in around mid-February. The good run of form we are on is bringing in more fans which means more money for us. Onto the games, the most notable result for us is the 3-0 win over Forest Green who were top of the league when we played them. We only suffered one defeat in the whole month, 2-1 against Accrington who have pretty good League 2 standard players with some knocking on League 1 standard.

Docherty wins youth appeal

Harrogate Town manager Steven Docherty has today won the appeal for funding for youth recruitment and coaching at Harrogate Town, giving the reason "It will help us progress as well as the town's recognition from tourists in the future if the whole planning turns out successful". This means Harrogate Town has one of the best youth recruitment strategies in England as well as youth coaching. North Yorkshire County Council will be funding most of the money towards the long term plan.

October - November Overview

We finish November top of the league with a 6 point gap between us and Lincoln City but Lincoln have a game in hand on us so we have to be wary of them. Apart from that, we've only lost 1 league game in the two months here and we have a healthy goal difference which might come in handy towards the end of the season.

Very nice set of results there, keep it up!

Your doing really well, very good story! :)

December-January Overview

First of all, lets take a look at my signings. I felt I had signed the players needed for promotion in August but since we are looking towards promotion this season, I wanted to make sure the squad was strong enough by bringing in 4 players, worth a combined fee of £175,000. I know these signings were to make sure we won promotion but I strongly believe the current squad is good enough for the next level, League 2. I let 3 first team players go but for good fees. I made a combined total of £890,000 in transfers this transfer window alongside the £100,000 deal for which we sold Patrick Smith to Birmingham City for back in August, but anyway, here are the signings:

PLAYERS IN

David Templeton - £140,000 from Rangers

We have a shortage of good quality left wingers in the side so a new one was needed and David Templeton was that man. In just 3 appearances he's scored 1 goal, assisted 3 and won Man of the Match once.

Ryan Hall - £35,000 from Leeds United

He isn't our best midfielder but provides depth for when it's needed.

Abdul Razak - Free transfer from Manchester City

Razak is straight into the team for every game. To get him on a free and on a low wage as he is now is such a great deal for us. Many bigger clubs put in offers for him but we offered him more than he asked for to make sure he joined us.

Wilson Palacios - Free transfer

For us, Palacios was the best signing of the transfer window. He has so many strengths it's untrue. He's played in the Premier League since 2007 when he joined Birmingham on loan. He then went onto Wigan for £1,500,000 the season after. Then Tottenham signed him for a big money fee of £12,000,000 which says it all about his ability. After 4 seasons at Spurs, Stoke City snapped him up for £8,000,000 and spent two seasons for them before going on loan to Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Leeds United. He's never played lower than the Championship. The lowest league he's played in is the Honduran Liga Nacional for Olimpia which is the top league in Honduras.

Total Spent: £175,000

PLAYERS OUT

Samuel - £800,000 to Brighton & Hove Albion

This was the toughest decision in my career, he was a fairly young center back and was at Championship standard but the financial rewards of the sale were too tempting. On the other hand, I had a few Under-18 center backs wanting first team action and they were suitable for this standard and on a lower wage.

Jan Tigorev - £100,000 to Aberdeen

Tigorev wouldn't fit into the squad anywhere as there was no defensive midfield role in the formation we were playing and with Palacios and Razak signing, it pushed him further down the pecking order.

Sean St. Ledger - £90,000 to Inverness Caledonian Thistle

St. Ledger was always unhappy here as he wasn't getting any first team action and he was taking too much of the wage bill up so a move away was perfect for him and like Samuel, was being pushed out by youngsters coming through the ranks.

Total Income - £890,000

The results and League table

We're still flying high, 4 points ahead of Lincoln but with our new midfield I think we'll be able to push away from them. We've also made it into the semi-final of the FA Trophy against Cambridge United.

You have some old talent there, and you sold Samuel at a big fee! All of the transfers you've brought have been fantastic, and you've made a profit!

Harrogate BSP Champions!

Steven Docherty has continued his Harrogate Town revolution with yet another title to add to his and Harrogate Town's cabinet. Docherty has led Harrogate to their first 3 trophies in their 96 year history. The season before, he won the Blue Square Bet North title. This year he's gone and won the FA Trophy and the Blue Square Bet Premier. Next season will be Harrogate's first ever season out of the non-leagues. Lets take a look at the last few months which led to the title and the league table which confirms Harrogate Town and Mansfield Town as the promoted teams, with Mansfield winning against Barnet 1-0 in the play-off final:

Now we've seen how the team won it, lets see the key players that made promotion a reality for Harrogate:

Key Keeper: Edin Nuredinovski

As you can see, Nuredinovski has left the club for a good fee but he was the 9th best keeper in the Blue Square Bet Premier. I could always rely on him to not make a mistake, which was a problem with Steve Simonsen. He struggled at times with his goal kicks but that didn't overly bother me as he could make up for it with some great saves.

Key Right-Back: Roberto Vitiello

Vitiello was the best right-back in the league this season. He brought a lot of Serie A and Serie B experience with him that showed when he played for us. He put in some amazing tackles and some world class crosses.

Key Center-Back: Ángel Dealbert

While there were mix-ups in the center back role when Samuel left to Brighton but Dealbert was always there when we needed him. He rarely made a mistake and was solid when called upon. He was perfect for the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Key Left-Back: Vasco Regini

Although he never stood out to be one of the stars in the squad, Regini was one of the unsung heroes and like Vitiello, put in some great tackles and crosses and never made a mistake or bad decision.

Key Center-Midfielder: Conor Thomas

When Doukouré joined I would of thought he would of been the star man in the center but Thomas was something else. We needed flair when Juan Huerta left us and Thomas gave us just that, as well as chipping in the odd goal. He never made a bad pass and always made the team tick.

Key Right-Winger: Ivan Cavaleiro

With 16 assists and 10 goals in 32 games in the league says it all about Cavaleiro's talent. He had pace, a good finish with a great crossing ability as well. He was the complete player for us.

Key Left-Winger: Vagiz Galiulin

Like Regini, Galiulin is a bit of an unsung hero. He can get past defenders easily and can put in a good cross when needed.

Key Striker: Joaquín Larrivey

Larrivey was the Blue Square Bet Premier top scorer this season. He's been clinical for us, his goalscoring record proves that. In my opinion, he's League 1 standard and he's already part of the staff team here as an Under-18 coach. I hope to use him when he retires as a coach as he will know the club inside out hopefully.
