Whittingham Sacked by New Board
Last updated: 21 June, 2013 3:15pm
Portsmouth have sacked Guy Whittingham, in what has been explained as a new strategy. The board has indicated that they want a new ambitious manager to take over and lead Pompey to new heights. Whittigham only lasted 2 months as manager after getting a 1- year rolling contract in April. His spell included the clubs longest winless streak, where they went a huge 23 games without winning. Guy Whittingham was unavailable for comment.
hey, I am doing a Pompey story!!

Findlay Emerges As Shock Contender
Cameron Findlay has emerged as a shock contender for the Portsmouth job. Findlay is 6/1 for the former Premiership team's job, just behind David James, who is 5/1. Cameron Findlay told our reporters, " Everything's cosmic at the moment, but if they offered me the job I would have to seriously consider the it, luvelly jubbely!"
Sky Bet
David James 5-1
Cameron Findlay 6-1
Alan Knight 8-1
Linvoy Primus 10-1
Sol Campbell 15-1
Mauricio Pochettino 10000-1

James out of the Running for Pompey job
David James will not be the new Portsmouth manager. Portsmouth had their approach blocked by James' employer IBV. David James is said to have understood the decision and respects IBV wholeheartedly. This surely paves the way for Cameron Findlay to take the top job. Findlay, currently the under 18's manager, has had his odds slashed to 2-1.
Sky Bet
Cameron Findlay 2-1
Alan Knight 4-1
Linvoy Primus 8-1
Sol Campbell 14-1

Findlay, who is 35 years old, will vacate his position as Portsmouth under-18s manager to take over from Guy Whittingham, who was sacked 10 days ago. The board has said that they felt new young blood was needed and Findlay fitted the bill perfectely.
