Ebbsfleet United manager Steve Brown,41, has made a decision that has shocked fans. After just 27 days in charge of the club he has resigned. The reason for his resignation is, so far, unknown but what we do know is who is hot favourite to take over from him.
You will only know Barry Ebbs, 25, if you are from the Kent area, he was a goalkeeper for the extremely obscure team Kent Rovers. He helped them become champions of the Kent Combination Division 2 2012/13. But a serious head injury in the final game of the season forced him out football early. Now favourite to take over from Steve Brown, he is looking to make a change to Ebbsfleet, just like he did Kent Rovers.
Former manager Liam Daish, 45, lead Ebbsfleet to promotion into the Blue Square Premier League where one season later relegated back to the Skrill South (previously Blue Square South). In an interview Daish explained “The hiring of a new, young, manager will be able to better interact with the players and fans and hopefully lead Ebbsfleet to promotion and stay there this time. Who knows? Perhaps Mr. Ebbs is good enough to lead us to the Sky Bet League 2.”
