Well guys, my laptop broke, and I guess my Newcastle save went with it. Sounds like a lame excuse, 'cos I should get my laptop back pretty soon, but I don't want to have to wait, so, here goes... (Credit to Lucas for the banner.)

Aitor Karanka, an ex-Spain international and Real Madrid defender, has announced to public that he is eyeing clubs vacant of managers in England, particularly the top two leagues, and will be applying for any available.

Karanka has spent the last three years as assistant manager to Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, but left the Bernabéu along with his boss. It seems rather than following Mourinho to Chelsea, Karanka has opted for joining a smaller club, but having a larger role.

"I will not be joining Jose at Chelsea," Karanka told press, "I will be looking for jobs around the Championship and Premier League in England, though. That is where I would like to work as a manager."

Tony Mowbray has recently been sacked as manager of Middlesbrough. Karanka is now favorite to take the helm at the Riverside Stadium, though there are several others in the mix for the job.
Best of luck mate!
Ooo, nice start mate, hopefully you'll get a good job :P

Jones Beats Karanka To Boro Job

Dave Jones was named manager of Middlesbrough this morning, his resignation as Sheffield Wednesday manager went public only minutes before. It seems the Liverpool born manager's move to the Riverside was behind closed doors, as the news that he had joined Boro happened almost simultaneously with the news of his Wednesday resignation.

Aitor Karanka, ex-Real Madrid assistant manager, was favorite for the job up until the last minute, and the Middlesbrough board hinted that they interviewed the Spaniard when they announced Dave Jones' arrival.

"We had several options to choose from, some more experienced, some less- quite a few people were interviewed, and it was a close decision, but we felt Dave has the mix of experience and freshness that can help Middlesbrough climb the table." Steve Gibson, Chairman of Middlesbrough told press. "We didn't feel the risk of bringing in an inexperienced manager was necessary."

This means that the Sheffield Wednesday job is now vacant, and interestingly, Aitor Karanka has been named favorite to take the job, however, Stuart Pearce and Alex McLeish have also been closely linked to the club.
Good start mate! keep it up :)
Former assist of Jose Mourinho, Aitor Karanka, has been named as new manager of Sheffield Wednesday after applying and losing out to the Middlesbrough job. This job will be the Spaniard's first venture in to first-team management after previously working at Real Madrid as an assistant and coaching a Spain youth team.

"I think Wednesday, at this time, are in an uncomfortable position, but I think I have what it takes to lead them up the table, and, eventually, get them in to the Premier League." Karanka said in his first interview as Wednesday manager. "I have worked with the best players, and arguably the best manager in the world, I know how football works and I have plans for this club."

"I am adept tactically and I want to make this team play good football- not only for the fans' entertainment, but, also, because it will make us a better team as a whole. It will be a while before we play like Real Madrid, for sure, but I believe our players have what it takes to move in that sort of direction," Karanka went on to say when questioned about tactics.

Sheffield Wednesday will go in to the 2013-14 Championship season as one of the favorites for relegation to League 1, but it seems like Karanka expects the Owls to beat the drop this season as he has exhibited enthusiasm and confidence in his first press conference.
Nice choice. I wonder if he payed attention to Mourinho's coaching lol
