Willkommen in Berlin

ABOUT:
For now my Minnesota United Story will be put on hold so get ready for my newest story. I will be taking over one of the most successful yet controversial clubs in Germany; Berliner FC Dynamo. My goal is to get them promoted to the Bundesliga and become a true power in Berlin. Also I want to be the first club from the Capital to win Champions League.

CLUB BACKGROUND:
Founded in 1966 as Dynamo Berlin this club has been pretty controversial since the start. They were formed by the East German Stasi and were found to be tainted. During the Cold War they played in the East German DDR-Oberliga where they won 10 league titles as well as 3 FDGB-Pokal's.
Currently the club plays in the German Oberliga in the NOFV-Oberliga Nord. In 2004 when Germany adopted the Verdiente Meisterverein BFC wanted to have their 10 titles recognized but nothing happened. They then added the three stars that represent 10 titles. The DFB ended up not recognizing the titles.

TITLES
Great start mate:) Looking forward to this good luck!

In The Beginning

http://www.photojournale.com/data/media/4/berlin_wall_americansector.jpg

I was a long long way from home. About 4,000 miles away from home. I have been in Berlin for the last few years studying and working on a research project. What you might be asking? Well back at university I focused on two areas. History from the European Enlightenment to the Post-Col War Era and Sport. I have always been interested in German History and Culture and have a minor in the language so being in Berlin is what feels right.

Ok ok right now you are probably saying that I need to get to the point. So I will. I am in Berlin to continue my research from Graduate School. I have been researching German Sport during the mid to late 20th Century, my main concentration is on East German Sport. The Masters Thesis was called "The Effects of the Soviet Influence on East German Sport."

Did I also mention I am a coach for the Hertha Berlin II squad. Yeah so the sports history is mostly just a hobby and coaching is my number one passion.
@ Radders Thanks

@ ebEliminator Totally agree. I hope I do well. Other than a FM in game story this will be a history thing too.
Good start, a different way of starting to! Will follow... :P

Manager Uluc and President Uhlig out of Dynamo
http://mediadb.kicker.de/news/1000/1020/1100/29000/artikel/590881/uluc-1209725055_zoom79_crop_600x450_600x450+3+1.jpg

BERLIN- Earlier today the Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband announced that BFC Dynamo President Norbert Uhlig and manager Volkan Uluc's contracts has been terminated with immediate effect. Reports state that they was dealing with ex East German Stasi members. Since Reunification BFC have been trying to clean their image up and this does not help. There will be elections for a new president by the start of July. The Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband will be taking over the elections until someone is chosen.

"I can not believe that two important members of BFC Dynamo have been dealing with that Stasi filth."-Rainer Milkoreit, President, Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband.

Berliner Football Club Dynamo are a club with a troubled past and it looks like they still are dealing with the wrong people. It is not known if there was some sort of match fixing or not. The DFB will be investigating if something shady did happen. The Wine Reds finished third during the 2012/13 season and will be playing in the upcoming DFB-Pokal. Please keep up with Kicker on the latest BFC Dynamo developments.
Y U WRITE KICKER!?!?!?! (in caps) Write kicker instead. Never with a capital k either :P

Nice update too, dealing with the Stasi has always been a common trait of Dynamo :P

BFC Dynamo Update

Berliner FC Dynamo is a club in the NOFV-Oberliga Nord and recently they have been in a big controversy. Both the president and the manager were dealing with a group that has caused the people of Germany pain and suffering. In our investigation we found that no matches were fixed but there were some financial issues but nothing to severe. In conclusion we will not be punishing the club for the actions of two people because that would not be fair. For the upcoming season both the DFB and the Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband will be monitoring the clubs actions.

one of the first actions will be a new election for club president. This will take place on 1 July 2013. Also we have picked a new manager for the club. This will be his first venture in managing here in Germany. His name is Mike Korrigan. Mike has been living in Berlin for sometime now. He previously was a coach for the Hertha II squad and is well known for his works on German Sport History.

Great last update involving the tweets :) Don't know your manager but I will still follow
@ Radders Its me lol. i find with the lower league management its better to be me than someone else so I won't get bored so easily.

The Press Conference From Hell

So today is the day I get introduced to the BFC community. I am both excited and nervous. My first management job is with one of the most controversial clubs in Europe. Before things get kicked off my press officer meets with me and we go over a few things. "Hello Mike, are you ready for this?" "Yes I am but I have a bad feeling." "What do you mean?" "I don't know something just does not feel right, its not the team but I fear something bad will happen." "Oh, don't worry, we will have only one member of the press here." "Really? Why one??" "It is our small stature." "Oh ok."

So now the press conference is more of an informal interview, this makes me feel better but still!! I am praying things go smoothly.

20 MINUTES LATER

"Hello Mike my name is Teemu Kloop and I will be interviewing you today. I am from the Berlin Free Press."
"Nice to meet you Teemu, lets get started!"
"So what do you think about this club?"
"I have high hopes for this club and I feel we can become a powerhouse in the future, the only thing is we need to forget about the past and focus on the future."
"Ah I see, so with that what are your thoughts on the issue that just happened?"
"It was so sad, I never followed BFC much other than old research work for school and I shead a tear that this was going on."
"Can you tell me about your possible way of playing?"
"Sure, I love a 4-2-3-1 formation that is all about attacking and a strong defense."

All of a sudden people are heard chanting "DEATH TO KORRIGAN"

BOOM the door is kicked in and a bunch of Ultras come running in.

"Hey idiot get the fuck out of here we do not need people like you on our team!!!"
I stupidly say "uhhh who are you and why are you here?"
"We are the true leaders and we run this club."
"SECURITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Look we don't want any trouble please leave us now and you won't get hurt."
"Are you serious, I am the new manager here and I want this club to succeed, please understand."
"Well you come from the west we hate you pretty boys."
"Are you serious the Cold War has been over since the 90s, stop the hate and give me a chance."
"Like we said GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!"

5 minutes later security arrives and they are removed

"Sorry about that Mike, the fans are idiots."
"Agreed."
"Do you feel safe with BFC still?"
"Hmm I do not know, getting death threats is totally not cool and I am now having second thoughts."
"I don't blame you get out while you still can."

The press conference is now over and I was right something bad happened. Those damn "Ultras" are nothing but scum who have mommy issues. Now I need to decide if I want to stay or not. If I do stay I can defy their childish acts and maybe win them over, at a risk of being killed. Or I can just leave and find a better place to coach."
LEAVE!

But please, small children may read this, the language is foul! ;)
@ Kane haha yeah. I never say bad things but it felt like it would add to the effect. At least it was't every other word lol
