Neil Lennon has been sacked today of manager of Celtic Football Club due to being accused of rape.

Lennon has been managing Celtic since June 2010. Before that he was caretaker manager and reserve manager for the club. Lennon spent 7 seasons playing for the club, so he was no stranger when they appointed him manager in 2010.

Many fans have been shocked at this allegation and feel he could never do such a thing. But due to this ordeal it is thought that the best thing for the club to do is to get a new manager.

The favourite to take the job is Avram Grant however Henrik Larsson and an unknown manager going by the name of Silas Harrison are also thought to be looking at the job.

Henrik Larsson has today announced that he is in the running for the Celtic job along with one other manager.

In a live press conference today hosted by BT Sport today Henrik Larsson was asked "Are you interested in the Celtic job?" Henrik replied with "Yes, certainly. I have already applied for the job, I feel that this is the right opportunity to get my managerial career going. However there is another manager in the running for the job, who I'm not prepared to name!"

The bookies favourite has now switched to Henrik Larsson after the favourite was Arvram Grant. It is also thought that the other manager in the running for the job is Paul Lambert who is thought to be the perfect manager for the club.

Today it's been announced that Henrik Larsson has taken charge of Celtic who have been without a manager for about a week now. The former Cetic legend has been appointed after Neil Lennon was sacked after he was accused of rape.

Larsson, aged 42, is no stranger to Celtic Football Club, having played 221 games for the club, scoring 174 goals. Many Celtic fans would class Larsson as a club legend and hope that his legacy will continue through his managing career.

Surprisingly this is only Larsson's second club that he has managed, Landskrona Bois being the other team he has managed. Although relatively inexperienced a managing Celtic fans believe he is the person to take the club forwards.

In a press conference after the appointment had been made Larsson had this to say "Its wonderful being back at my favourite club. I hope I can do the fans good by bringing success back to the club."

First off lol on Lennon and secondly Larsson!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet when you play Rangers all you will have to do is look at them and you will win lol

Careful what you say. You've made it very clear Celtic have no competition, meaning:

1) You may lose interest in the save very easily. Besides the UEFA Champions League, what have you got to comepete for? And usually lack of competition means a story epically fails.

2) If you don't win everything you are going to look like such a mug!

In preparation for the new season Celtic have announced a new kit. This kit will take over from the old ones which they have had for many years. Many fans are angry with the change as they believe the old home kit was the traditional kit which could never be replaced. But everyone hopes this new kit will bring more luck to the club.

Henrik Larsson has completed his forst two signing's today, they are Keisuke Honda and Maurice Edu.


Honda, aged 27, joins the Celtic team from Russian side CSKA Moscow for a fee of 1.5 million. Honda's only had 6 months left on his contract, hence the relatively cheap price. It is believed that Honda will be the main player in the team, setting up goals and helping himself to a few as well. It was thought that Honda would of gone to a bigger club, with rumours that Inter Milan and Liverpool were interested in him, but for some reason he chose to come her to Celtic. Many fans believe that Honda will be the player to help Celtic get much further in the Champions League.


Edu, aged 27, is no stranger to Scottish football having had 5 seasons at former champions Rangers. Edu was enjoying life at Rangers until they had all of that money trouble. Unfortunately during that bad time for Rangers he had his contract terminated. Edu was only without a club for a short time as Stoke picked him up on a free transfer. He only spent half a season at Stoke, having been shipped out to Bursaspor for the second half of the season. Edu joins Celtic for a fee of 1.5 million and is thought to be the replacement for Victor Wanyama, who left for Southampton in the summer.
