Hello and welcome to Sportsdesk.

Wenger Resigns!

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/268/j1do.png/

Arsene Wenger has sensationally resigned! Reports suggest that an argument between him and the board are to blame. Players are understood to be shocked but are waiting to see who will succeed him as manager. Early suggestions from the bookies say that Martin O Neill, Jurgan Klinnsmann and Jose Mourinho are interested in the job.

Arsenal, who have a lot of money available to them to spend is a very attractive proposition for a manager to come into. The arsenal board say they have a 12 man shortlist.

More news on this when we get it.

Solskjaer Speaks

I would like to thank everyone for the amazing welcome, said a very happy Ole Gunnar. He showed signs of a coach happy to be at Arsenal football club. It wasn't long however until the first question about his links to Manchester was mentioned.

'Hi, Bob Hope, The Independent. Do you think that your links to Man Utd are going to impact your decisions at Arsenal and will you amazingly even look to sign any Man Utd players?'

'I dont think it will make any difference whatsoever. I am determined to win the fans over. I have a decent transfer kitty but I believe in the philosophy of pass and move, pass and move. If anything I would rather manage Arsenal than Man Utd because Ferguson managed a average group of players very well but Arsene Wenger managed a good group of players poorly in my honest opinion. I have several options for the team, I will be selling 6 to 10 players and looking to bring in 3 marque signings and 4 or 5 squad players, I am looking to raid my former club Molde. I would not have took this job if I didnt feel I could make a big difference for this team. We are aiming for the title and I will deliver it within 2 years if the fans get behind me.'

Aftew that answer Mike Jarvis from The Sun asked him about the death threats Man Utd fans had given him for taking the job and Ole Gunnar decided that was enough questioning for the day.

So after an amazing statement that it was found out the death threats were true!(The Sun reporting fact makes a change!) Sky Sports News ran a poll to ask if it had gone to far, 89% of people said yes and that he should just be given the chance to manage.

One thing for sure Ole Gunnar was going nowhere!

Arsenal Announce Signings

Arsenal Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has announced his first few signings and there are a couple of shocks! Solskjaer obviously has an idea of who he wants and has made no secret that he wanted a new goalkeeper, so it is of no surprise he has adressed that first.

Tim Krul - From Newcastle - 9,250,000
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/11/w4g3.jpg/
Tim comes in on a 4 year deal worth 65k a week. He has played for Newcastle for some time and decided he wanted a chance to play in the Champions League. 'Tim is going to be a awesome signing ' said a very happy Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. I cant wait to see him perform for us.

Stuart Downing - From Liverpool - 16,500,000

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has took a huge gamble here. He has plumpted for Downing to try and get at defenders and has gone on record to say the wide players need competition. But in downing is a player who has completely underperformed his potetional. Downing said though that he cant wait to prove some people wrong and show arsenal fans he wants to play. 16.5m looks a lot but Solskjaer has said lets make the judgement at the end of the first season. Downing has signed a 3 year contract worth 49k a week.

So two signings in and none out so far. Solskjaer has said he expects his next 3 signings to be unveiled soon.
ohhhh.... very controversial! :P.... I don't think this would happen in real life however this is what these stories are for! :D
This is looking good so far! I think you overpayed a bit for Downing though!
the forgotten one - It is different but it is good to be different glad your following the story though.

TK - Thanks for reading and yeah might be a little too much but Ole knows what he is doing ;)
I really don't like paying huge transfer fees, but hopefully the risk pays off for you.
eb - usually i dont too, but i have two more marque signings to make and each of them smash the 20m mark watch this space
Hold on - Downing?? He is absolute rubbish! Interesting gamble!
K1rups - Yes I have gambled but i hope it pays off

Another 3 in and 3 out

Arsenal Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer today announced 3 more signings coming into the club. Combined the total of the three transfers in which Ole Gunnar has said will be the last 3 expensive signings equal 60m so just who has he spent this amount of money on?

Elliott Bennett - From Norwich - 5,750,00

Elliott Bennett joins for 5,750,000 and will be a squad rotational player. Solskjaer likes this man and he thinks he might even be able to challenge for a starting spot and maybe even a England squad could be on the horizon. Bennett said that he cant wait to play for Arsenal.

Stephen El Shaarawy - From A.C Milan - 29,000,000
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/812/bb5m.jpg/
Stephen El Shaarawy signs from A.C Milan for a whopping 29m. It is now Arsenal's joint record signing at 29,000,000. El Shaarawy comes in as a 'marque' signing and can not wait to pull on the red top of the Gunners. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is delighted ot have captured the youngster from A.C Milan. 'Stephen will bring us some energy in the midfield and I have high hopes for this guy said Solskjaer. There is rumours he will be first choice as he is being handed the Number 7 shirt.

Robert Lewandowski - From Dortmund - 29,000,000
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/809/sqt3.jpg/
Also in for Arsenal is Robert Lewandowski. This is a huge signing for Arsenal and hopefully he will live upto his 29m pice tag. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also pleased with this signing and then said that the 3 signings that Arsenal now have he can now challenge for the Premier League title.

Three youngsters were also released and were not deemed good enough by the management.

Arsenal have certainly spent some this season and will hope that its enough to win the League. Only time will tell.
From someone who has played Liverpool a lot in FM, Stewart Downing is terrible and you will definitely regret your decision.

I hope you prove me wrong though ;)
Glenn - I hope I can prove you wrong too ! lol. What do you think about the rest of the signings?
