Why Viitorul?
I was becoming slightly bored of my various 'easy' saves in and around Europe's top leagues. I decided, while watching Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League, that Romania would be and interesting place to start a save. Viitorul have some excellent facilities all funded by ex-footballer Gheorge Hagi. The academy and club, since being founded in 2009, has started to produce some of Romania's most exciting prospects, recently Gabriel Iancu, who now plays Champions League football for Steaua Bucharest.
The club was founded in the summer of 2009 and enrolled in Liga III after buying a spot from CS Ovidiu. The club is owned and was founded by world-wide known international Romanian footballer, Gheorghe Hagi. The club, known in English as 'The Future Football Club', is mainly known as a club based on nurturing the youth talents in Romania, and possesses the top youth facilities of any club in the country.
