It is time for the reign of Barcelona and Real Madrid to stop. We are breaking the streak and taking over.

Pre-Season Interview
BBC News: First and for most, what are your expectations for the new season?
Diego Simeone: We want a champions league spot but we sincerely believe we could challenge for the title with a few more transfers.

BBC News: What are the positions or players you are currently looking at?

Diego Simeone: We are not quite sure player wise but we are definitely looking at bringing in a new creative force to help the likes of Turan or a player with a similar build to Javi Martinez.

BBC News: Are you limited transfer budget wise?

Diego Simeone: Yes we are, we have to look for a bargain through a possibly
transfer listed player.

BBC News: Why are you limited, considering the recent success you have brought to the club?
Diego Simeone: We in no-doubt believe we have the proper squad to challenge for the trophy, the money is more towards becoming a force in Europe and that can wait a few years. We have a bunch of young lads who are eager but also patient.

BBC News: Are the rumors true? Do you not return the favors given to you by the players?
Diego Simeone: With the way the Torres and Falcao transfers turned out, it can seem like we have no problem selling our best players, but believe me, we are only interested in players willing to commit to the team and not easily persuaded by more money than we can offer.

BBC news: Are their any proclamations you want to make?

Diego Simeone: Yes, we are very close to bringing in a very young and talented player. One that will change the tide of Madrid.
Good luck mate!

Just a little note, Bayern Munich signed Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao not Atletico...

Yes, Koke is really underrated in this game.

Tom Cleverly as signed for Atletico Madrid for 16.5 million and 100k a week. This news comes as a shock especially considering there was no news linking Tom away from Old Trafford. Even more appalling is the fact that Atletico beat out the big mighty Barcelona for Tom's signature.

"I didn't feel needed at Manchester, I love the club and all but I had a personal meeting with David and he was willing to let me go without a fight, as for the Barcelona situation, plain and simple felt I would get a lot more playing time here and the quick pace of football played by Atletico will make the transition to Spanish football easier for me." Atletico fans and England fans alike will hope Cleverly can bring the Spanish creativity back with him for the national team but also perform as well as David Beckham or Steve McManaman rather than Owen. Tom made a total of 47 appearances and scored 4 goals for United before leaving.

That was not all though, Atletico lost Filipe to Tottenham shortly after acquiring Cleverly. The transfer amount is rumored to be around the 17 million range. The 27 year old left back from Brazil stated he simply felt "it was time for me to move on." Simeone refused to offer more than "It's fine, Insua will simply have to step up." Filipe made 130 appearances during his three years at the club. Rumor also as it that Atletico Madrid are looking at one more player for the future.
