Introduction

Hello FMScout. Following the issues with my laptop and windows 8 which lead to two of my stories having to come to an end when I was enjoying it most, I was very annoyed and said I wouldn't write another story. Then I googled the fix for this issue and my laptop is ok, it hasn't malfunctioned like before. So with two weeks left of my Christmas vacation and me being able to come online only on weekends, as I have my GCSE's in January, I decided to give this one last try. Unfortunately, none of my FM14 stories have been successful but I'm hoping this one can be.

The Club

I've decided to pick West Brom as they are a team with potential and have a great youth academy. I would really like to take a team like West Brom to Europe. Also I'm tired of managing the top teams and I think I can do some good work at this club. In real life this club doesn't have a manager.

The Gaffer

Following the sacking of Steve Clarke, André Villas Boas has been heavily linked with West Brom and I think it would be a good move for the young manager. So that is why I have picked André Villas Baas. I hope you enjoy this :)
Good luck man. I hope this will be your most successful story.
I think there is a lot more to come from AVB if one club actually bothers to give him a chance to put his stamp on the club. Good luck with the story. I am sure it will be a cracker!
Good luck Seni, I always like your stories, so I will definitely be following this!
Thanks for the support already guys :)
I'm defo looking forward to this!

Third time lucky for AVB ?

It's Christmas eve and West Brom have confirmed André Villas Boas as their new first team manager. Following the dismissal of Steve Clarke and André Villas Boas from Tottenham, who have just announce Tim Sherwood as their new manager, the Baggies were in contact with AVB for a few days and it seems that the deal is finally done and his first game in charge will be after Christmas.

After some thrashings at the hands of Man City and Liverpool ( at White Hart Lane), Villas Boas departed Tottenham on mutual consent therefore, Tottenham will have to pay off the Portuguese manager. This means he'll have some extra money coming into his pocket as Chelsea still have to pay him off, so do Spurs and West Brom are paying him every week, what a lucky young man.

Speaking to Sky Sports news briefly, AVB said:

"I'm happy to take over West Brom. They are a very good side with potential. I still believe that I need to prove myself to the premier league that I am a good manager. I thought I proved that at Tottenham but then things went wrong. With West Brom, being a smaller team, I think I will have more time to show it and I won't let them down. I thank the chairman for having faith in me as I know other managers were lined up for this job."

Other fans are not too sure about the approval of André Villas Boas, some believe that he should manage outside of England, possibly in Spain with Valencia who are also looking for a manager. Whereas some believe West Brom is a good move for AVB:

Taking over almost halfway through the season, can André Villas Boas really help West Brom this season and maybe push for Europe next season? Let's wait and see.
great idea mate.. nice updates keep going! :)
Good Luck Seni!

Tactics & Team Report

In the past, I've been criticized heavily about my tactics, especially at Tottenham. Many have said I am too cautious but I know what I am doing and I would appreciate it if people just gave me some time. I've met all the players and discussed with my coaches about which players are key. James Morrison is our key player and best midfielder. Yacob was sold to Chelsea in the summer. Scott Sinclair and Shane Long will work well in this tactic.

The squad I'm working with is quite experienced. I would like to introduce some youth players to the first team over some time. It will be the u21 coaches and the u18 coaches who will advise be about which players are ready for the first team.

We will play a 4-5-1 but a modified one. The striker who on most occasions will be Shane Long, will play as a poacher. The wingers from both sides will act as inside forwards and not just as wingers. They are expected to cut in often and cause havoc.

The only central attacking midfielder will play as a Trequartista. This man's job is to drop into holes in the oppositions defence and midfield. He can almost play as a centre forward, like Wayne Rooney does at Manchester United. Also in the midfield we will play with a box to box midfielder and a ball wining midfielder. The box to box midfielder will aid both the attack and the defence. Only a very fit player can do this. The ball wining midfielder's job is to break down the oppositions attack and possibly start a counter attack. A good tackler and passer will be used here.

Our first game is later on today vs Norwich City at the Hawthorns. I'm glad my first game is a home game, it gives the fans a chance to see their team play under a new manager and its a chance for me to introduce myself to the fans. I'm just hoping for a win.
Wish u a good like mate!
This has the makings of a great story Seni, I hope you stick to it :)
Good luck and great to see you back with another story! AVB and WBA? Interesting couple :P
It turns out AVB and West Brom are a match made from hell! :)) Just two months into the save and I've been sacked. The squad is horrible, no money to strengthen it, I don't know what I will do!
that sucks to hear Seni I thought you would have got far
