-----End of 2013/14 Season-----
June 10, 2014 - Montevideo, Uruguay

Finished up our friendlies to get ourselves sharpened up before the World Cup. Feeling pretty good, Luis Suarez is seeming to get into the flow of the game. We went to Turkey, Austria, and Ghana to prepare for these matches and I think we handled it well. We won 2-0 in each of our games, which makes me feel real good. Considering I'm not too worried about our midfield or forwards, but whether our backline will be effective. We won't have Maxi Periera for the tournament, as he tore his hamstring during the domestic season.

Our starting XI is going to look like:
Ramirez- Suarez- Sanchez
Lodeiro- Gargano
A. Periera - Godin - Caceras - Fucile

I feel that it is a strong XI and very capable of doing some damage.

On the Everton front, we did lose Lukaku, Barry, and Delafou. We tried to resign Barry, but he wants insane wages, so he is a no. We did pick up a replacement in Etienne Capoue, which we think is a really good replacement in the midfield. He is also 25 and we now have an anchor to build around there. We then are in the running for an attacking midfielder from Dynamo Kyiv, Andriy Yarmenlenko, he is deciding between us and Liverpool, we have UCL honors so I hope he chooses us. We made a huge splash in the transfer market, signing Victor Valdes from Barcelona on a free transfer. He will have a big contract but it is worth it as long as we stay in the UCL. With these additions and a couple of loanees, we might be very set for another great campaign.

Well, we needed a strong pep talk at half time to get us on track but we won our opener against Japan. The first half was dominated by Japan and the goal happened when Alvaro Periera and Deigo Godin were taking a nap and Kagawa slotted one. We pulled through in the second half however and Edison Cavani put the team on his back.
