News just in...

Today marks a confusing and questionable day in the history of Liverpool Football Club as the board decide to release Brendan Rodgers of his managerial duties. It is believed that the sex scandal involving Brendan and 5 women in their 80's proved too much weight for the board to bear. Furthermore, what defines the events is the shocking selection of ex-England player Christopher East. 37 year old East, from Ilford, had gained 34 caps for the Lions, scoring 3. Many across the Liverpool fan-base are upset at East's arrival as he has no past managerial experience, and has only recently achieved the required qualifications to hold such a position...

Out with the old and in with the new, East looks set to quell doubters with fancy and fiery tactics! After a reasonably quick conversation with club Chairman Thomas Werner, East set about the business of hiring and firing a select few who, he imagined, would match his ambition and fit the criteria to play the attractive, attacking, expressive football he so dearly desires. We were able to speak to East earlier to find out his ambitions and next moves for the club.

Hello, good morning everyone, I am very excited to have been given such an opportunity and will really take this role by the horns. As many of you have heard already I am an avid believer in attractive football, something I will strongly implement in my tactics.

Many have asked me about my transfer targets in the opening window. I must apologise as I will not be able to disclose names and figures at the moment, the only thing I can say is that I will look to secure young, and preferably English, talent. The way I see it is that; without a strong link between our own division and our national side, we as a nation will falter in performing against strong home-grown talent like the German's and the Spanish. We need to be able to produce young, world-class talent to uplift our aims of being recognised as a top national football team, and therefore to do so, we must promote the young English talent that is scattered all around us.

You heard it here first folks, East is out to wow fans with his style of play and to strengthen the national side by giving opportunities to the youth. We will be watching East closely throughout the season to see whether he can overturn what so many believe to be a poor board decision to hire him.
GL, ill follow.
Great start
Good luck :)

With new Liverpool manager East at the helm we wondered what changes, if any, would be made during the transition. So far we haven't been let down as East was quick to send Colin Pascoe packing and decided to bring in Brazilian, tactical mercenary, Tatá. It is believed that East is seeking the great tactical knowledge at the disposal of the Brazilian to his advantage and is keen to bring the master-class of Brazilian football, we all know and love, to the heart of Liverpool. In addition to staff changes, we were gifted with a wonderful conference, held at Anfield, where Mr East revealed his latest transfer targets and various other plans with funds made available...

Good evening. You'll be pleasantly pleased today that I can now reveal an insight to the talent I hope to bring to the Reds. The board have allocated around £20m to gain a Champions League qualification place.

At number one, a young talent I believed already to be blossoming, James Ward-Prowse.
Additionally, we a looking at Will Hughes and Eder Alvarez Balanta. Although nothing has be cast in stone yet.

In addition to transfer targets I will be putting the funds made available to the use of the club itself, allowing it to grow as a franchise and advance its reputation. Therefore I have asked the board to allocate £7,500,000 to expand the 45,000-seater stadium to around 52,000. I have also recommended that the training facilities be upgraded along with the youth facilities, costing a total of £5,000,000. With more money also being pumped into the youth system with the youth recruitment network and junior coaching funds being increased to an exceptional level.

We will be following Mr East closely over the coming weeks or months, depending on whether he can live up to board expectations. Hopefully the next report will feature new signings and pre-season results.

The Pre-season plan

Preferred Tactics

East has gone with 2 strikers with his main formation now set up. 4-3-1-2
Mr East is known for his love of 4-2-3-1 but felt the essemble of talented forwards in the squad meant that 2 strikers would fully utilise the team at hand.

Mr East:

I will be able to use Suarez throughout pre-season but I must remember not to get too attached as he will be missing out on 7 English games for me due to his ban, prior to my arrival, for biting Ivanovic.
I have other tactics in mind just in case of dispairing injury and we can only implement one striker and if we need to counter other teams strengths.
Please note; these aren't the players I use in the positions shown.

Transfer News

IN

Will Hughes
Signed from Derby for a fee of around £6.75m initally, potentially rising to £9.75m.
He is Mr East's first fortay in the transfer market. A great potential at 18 and English, that ticks every box on Mr East's list.

James Ward-Prowse
The biggest spend of the budget went towards this young man of just 18 from Southampton. A rumoured inital fee of £11.5m, with the potential to rise to £22m due to various clauses.
The most exciting prospect of the lot, a young player who knows his way around the pitch with great technical ability.

Eder Alvarez Balanta
An amazing young centre back from River Plate, Eder at just 20 already has the skill and talent of an experienced defender. For £6.7m - steal!

Lastly, by no means least we have;

Mason Bennett
Young and talented 16 year old striker from Derby, great potential to flourish with the mix of strikers in the squad, at around £600k - brilliant!

Pre-Season Results!

Liverpool 5 - 1 Liverpool U21s

Good first performance, obviously only against the U21s so nothing to cheer about, what I expected.

Goals:
Coutinho x2
Skrtel
Gerrard
Joe Allen

Sparta Prague 2 - 1 Liverpool

Poor performance, I would blame it on giving the assistant manager a turn at managing for the friendly but I'd just sacked Colin Pascoe at this point.

Goals:
James Ward-Prowse

Carlisle 1 - 3 Liverpool

Should have won by more but we were very much in full control.

Goals:
Suarez x2
Sturridge

Cagliari 1 - 4 Liverpool

Dominant win, good to watch. Excellent hattrick from Suarez

Goals:
Suarez x3
Iago Aspas

Inter Milan 1 - 1 Liverpool

What I expected somewhat, too early into the season to be disappointed with an away draw to Inter.

Goals:
James Ward-Prowse

C.E. Sabadell 0 - 2 Liverpool

Expected to win by much more but at least we grabbed a clean sheet.

Goals:
Agger
Iago Aspas

Pre-Season Review:

Suarez had an excellent pre-season, grabbing 5 goals. Ward-Prowse was excellent to join so recently but fit so very well. It pains me that we only grabbed 1 clean sheet, and makes me question the ability of Mignolet. Overall, not much to complain about and we look decent to start the season against Crystal Palace.

Player of Pre-Season
Luis Suarez

AUGUST

The goings on for Liverpool and East for the month are in as we look back over his first month in charge of competitive football.
A link between Rangers FC and Liverpool has been announced between the two chairman. It is thought East wanted to be able to send youngsters on loan but not too far from home.

In addition, we will glance at the results over the past month:

Premier League

Cardiff vs. Liverpool - 19/08/13
An interesting game, perfectly dominant and a win is a win, however more goals would have been better suited for Liverpool in this affair. Sadly Glen Johnson picked up a twisted ankle and will be out for 3 weeks

Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace - 25/08/13
A good comeback but Liverpool were extremely poor in truth. How they only beat Crystal Palace 2-1 I do not know, very poor profigacy in front of goal.

Capital One Cup

Sheffield United vs. Liverpool - 27/08/13
Excellent comeback, good of Sturridge to grab two goals to boost his confidence in front of goal and an inspiring performance from Iago Aspas to set up 2 and score himself - through to the next round.

http://www.ezimba.com/work/140103C/ezimba18883040135800.png

Norwich vs. Liverpool - 31/08/13
Excellent comeback yet again! They seem to be pulling off results incredibly well without Suarez.

Liverpool are only just figuring out the way in which East wants them to play, so very good indeed to be unbeaten this month!
