Neil Young Departs Chester FC!

Chester FC fans are in utter and complete shock today after hearing that their manager Neil Young has departed the club for family reasons. Having been their manager since Chester reformed back in 2010, Young has guided Chester to the Skrill Premier.

During his time at Chester Young has won three successive titles the first being NPL Division One north, in 2011 he won the Evo-Stik Premier Division. The last title he won was in 2012 when he won the Conference North title.

Young had this to say about the matter "It is a sad day for me, I have really enjoyed my time here at Chester but unfortunately I had no choice to leave. The club is in safe hands and will be just fine without me, I wish good luck to the new man whoever that will be and I will always have a soft spot for Chester FC"

Chester now need to act quick to find a new manager with just over two months before the season starts, the new manager will have his work cut out to turn Chester into a promotion side this season.

It has yet to be seen who the new manager will be, but the Chester fans are urging the board to really think about the appointment and get in a manager that knows the Skrill Premier well and has knowledge of the game.

An outsider for the job is Michael Owen, he has just retired from the game and has said that he is looking to get into football management. With Owen being born in Chester he will know the area well and is a "legend" here at Chester already. But then again I guess it could all be false and untrue I guess we will have to wait and see!
cool story bro ;)
alexhague123 - Thanks lad :)

Michael Owen Seen Coming Out Of Deva Stadium!

Michael Owen has been seen coming out of the Deva Stadium and has apparently been holding talks with Chester chairman Tony Durkin about the vacant manager's position.

Chester's fan base are reported to be ecstatic about the rumors and are urging the board to get the deal done as as soon as possible.

One Chester fan had this to say on the matter "It is great that the club is being linked with footballing legends such as Owen, I hope the deal is done soon and we can see Owen take the reigns of this great football club.

Owen, a former England international has declined to comment on the matter but we already now that he has connections with Chester.

If this happens then it would be great news for Chester as it would definitely improve the club's revenue with Owen being such well known.

Only time will tell if this happens but with just two months till the start of the season Chester would want the appointment to happen sooner rather than later.

Cool I have seen a title like that before :P
It's very fitting if Michael Owen is the manager as he comes from Chester!
Good luck mate!

I had a great game on FM13 with Chester, I actually managed to get Michael Owen to play for them for 2 seasons and then became my youth coach! Made it to League 2 with consecutive promotions and broke all sorts of records in doing it ... miss that game actually, might get rid of FM14 and go back to it lol

Anyway, good luck and hope you have the success I did!
WayneGEE - Haha strange
Josh7798 - You will have to wait and see ;)

Michael Owen Announced As Chester FC Manager!!

R=Reporter
MO=Michael Owen

R - Michael, you sit here as the new manager of Chester FC how does it feel?

MO - It feels amazing I can't wait to get started!

R - Being born in Chester, did it help with your decision to the The Blues?

MO - Well, a little bit but I joined the club because I know that they are a progressing club and I wanted to be part of it. Obviously being from this area certainly helps but it wasn't the main reason I joined.

R - What are your plans for Chester?

MO - My plans, well my plans are to bring glory and success to the people here at Chester, I know they have had a rough time in the past couple of years with different football clubs but I want them to know they can rely on me.

R - What transfer policy do you tend to use, do you want to develop young English players or buy foreign ready made talent?

MO - I intend to develop young English talent, I think it is rare in the country at the moment and I want to bring it back.

R - Do you already have a starting eleven in mind, or do you intend to give everybody a chance?

MO - I am going to give everybody a chance to show me what they have got then I will decide my real starting eleven!

R - Do you have signings in mind?

MO - I do have a couple of deals in the process of being completed.

R - Can you give any names?

MO - No, sorry I can't you will find out who they are very soon though

R - Are you bringing in your own backroom staff or keeping the ones already with the club?

MO - I shall be keeping the backroom staff already in place, they have never done anything to warrant being fired.

R - That's all the time we have, thanks for your answers Michael. We wish you a long and successful career here at Chester FC!

MO - Thank you very much!

While I was there I made a list of who I thought could lead us to some glory this season, as I said before they're all very good these are just some that caught my attention."
