JUVE LOAN OUT BAKKALI
Juventus has loaned out their Belgian wonderkid Zakaria Bakkali to FC Porto for the remainder of the season.
The ‘Bianconeri’ manager Antonio Conte was thought to be keen on the idea of loaning Bakkali and the 19-year-old will now join up with a Porto side looking to regain the Portuguese title back from Benfica.
Conte hopes that a loan move for Bakkali will help him mature as a footballer and that he will be monitoring his development very closely.
“I’m keen to see what Bakkali can do when given plenty of minutes. We all know about his potential so now it’s time for him to show off his abilities.
“Moving to Porto temporarily should give him time to grow as a footballer in all aspects and I’ll be watching his progress very closely.
“At the age that he’s at, it’s important that he’s given opportunities and unfortunately I can’t guarantee him the game time he would like just yet so a loan move is ideal for us.
“Coming originally from Dutch football, us Latin countries play in a sneakier and far more cynical manner to what he was used to so as a winger, his time in Portugal should prepare him well for the physical battle in Serie A.
“He’ll be moving to a fairly competitive league with a similar tempo to the Serie A and if he’s given minutes as I’ve been assured, Porto could be a very good experience for him.”
Bakkali joined Juventus last summer from PSV Eindhoven for £6.25 million and made just 14 appearances last season, two of which were starts.
