2014-01-12 19:04#154223 NVDTahir : Excellent few updates, you made a good choice with Merthyr Town tbh, and good luck for the future! :)
thanks man :)
Really good update man. Nice results.
Never heard of this club, always it's very nice to see stories about unknown teams. Very good updates and results! Just keep it up!
@Bayern: thanks man :)
@AAN: soon they will be one of the best teams in the world!! that's the plan anyway.
Never heard of Merthyr but I hope you take them to glory! :)
I like this story, I would make some of the updates just that bit more longer but its a good start

August part 1

Wimborne vs Methyr Town

2-4
An efficient performance from the lads and a nice brace from Kerry Morgan. A solid win from the Martyrs!

Methyr Town vs Tiverton

0-2
This was always going to be a tough game as Tiverton are predicted to win the league however I do feel that we were too sloppy and lacked the desire to win the game.

To be Continued...

Thompson suspended for one game

In Marthyr Towns 2-0 defeat against Tiverton, centre back Andrew Thompson picked up two yellow cards seeing him suspended for the Next league game against Taunton this Saturday. Thomas received his first yellow in the 52nd minuted for tripping Emati and then saw the second yellow card after a rash challenge on Stevens. New boss Dennis Peterson hinted in his latest press conference that he may appeal the one match ban and told Sky Sports "It was a very harsh decision from Phil and I know that Andrew isn't the type of person to hurt another player."
Merthyr T 0-2 Tiverton
Merthyr Town are not short of back-up in defence with Ashley Hollgingshed and Garry Colbourne fit for action however Joe sissions reportedly unhappy with playing second fiddle to Matthew Harris and Nathan Davies in central midfield and rejected a contract renewal at the end of last season. Merthyr Town will now be without Thompson going into Saturdays fixture away to Taunton at Wordsworth drive where they will look to take 3 points which could potentially put them back on top of the Southern D1SW. Right back Lloyed Jones is also doubtful going into this game having suffered a hip injury during pre-season.
Unlucky with the loss and suspension!
Unlucky about the loss, but hopefully you can bounce back with a win!
You'll win the next game hopefully :)

August part 2

Taunton vs Methyr Town

1-2
A good performance and a solid defensive display from the team

Shortwood vs Methyr Town

1-5
An excellent performance from the team and a great attacking display.

Methyr Town vs Yate

2-0
A very pleasing perfomance from the lads and we got the 3 points to end the month strongly.

Overall Thoughts

I am happy with my teams start to the season and we have showed to everyone that we are capable of winning this division despite our loss to Tiverton. Our attacking play has been especially pleasing.

Player Of the Month

This month's player of the month was a very difficult one but it's got to go to Matthew Harris who has started the campaign by scoring 2 goals and making 4 assists in our opening 5 games

Things are looking good for the mighty Merthyr
Things are going well mate! keep it up!
@BAYERN + AAN: hopefully we can keep it up. thanks!
