Klopp Pens One Year Extension

Borussia Dortmund are proud to announce that Head Coach, Jürgen Klopp has signed a one year contact extension at the club following his recent success in last years Champions League.

Klopp has announced that he is proud to be able to extend his stay a team he feels so passionately about, he released the following statement:

"I am delighted to be able to have my contact extended at the club, it is a club that is very close to my heart and I feel so passionately about! I am starting to build something here, we are a team that has to be taken seriously now. Yes we had our rough patch not so long ago but now we are back! and back with a bang I might add. I am looking forward to the future and I look forward to taking this club to new heights!"

Author's Notes

I have decided that I will be using Dortmund as my new story save, as my Derby County save was unfortunately corrupted and wasn't able to be restored. I hope for this story to be as popular and successful as my Derby One, and I look forward to hearing your feedback! Hope you enjoy.
Good luck!
Oooh! A Dortmund story! Good Luck :)

Five Signings Klopp Should Consider

In todays column, we look at Borussia Dortmund and what they can do to try knock Bayern off their perch, and we have 5 potential signings that could potentially see them over the line this season and help them push on in other competitions too.

5. Coming in at number five, we have Timo Horn. He is a young useful goalkeeper, as we know Weidenfeller isn't getting any younger, there is still no doubt he is a quality goalkeeper, but Dortmund could do with a young lad coming in and we beleive Horn could strive under Klopp, and from a bit of tutoring from Weidenfeller he could become a class goalkeeper in years to come.

He would cost the club £3.8m due to a clause in his contact, It isn't a lot of money and is definitely worth a gamble as he is one of the hottest goalkeeping prospects in Europe right now!

4. At number four we have picked out Hoffenheim forward, Kevin Volland. He is a young striker with a lot to offer, his goal scoring record might not be prolific but under the right guidance and in the right team he could blossom, he wouldn't cost the German giants any more than £8.5m and could be a very important signing should Lewandowski leave.

3. At number three we have Matthias Ginter, the 19 year old has had a great start to his career and is one of Freiburg's gems, he is already touted to be the next Per Mertesacker (but a lot more mobile) He isn't afraid to go into a tackle and even though he is only young he would still be a useful signing for the German Side. Freiburg may be unwilling to sell but should Die BVB come knocking it would be hard for Matthias to turn down a move

2. We have chosen Aston Villa's Christian Benteke as our number two, he is a big presence but can also get about the pitch, he has struck fear into the Premier Leagues defence last season and could be available at a cut price with Aston Villa having money problems as of late. He would be the perfect fit for Dortmund as he works his socks off and won't give up on any lost causes.

1. At number one it's a no brainer really... Tie Robert Lewandowski down for the long term, yes we know it's not a new signing but it'd be a lot harder for Dortmund in any competition this season or any season without the prolific Pole. He is on fire recently and has gained a lot of attention due to his amazing Champions League campaign last season, scoring four against the Spanish Giants Real! It may be tricky for Klopp but it would be ideal for them to get Robert tied down for the long run!

Good luck! Will make your banner soon!

German Super Cup Final - Preview

Hello, Welcome to another fantastic game of football here in Germany for the Super Cup. Today we have the two big guns of German football, Borussia Dortmund vs FC Bayern Munchen, 'The Apprentice' against 'The Master' Jurgen vs Josep!

It should be a fantastic day's football and a real test for both sides and who knows we may even get a feel for who has the upper hand and the stronger set of players going into the opening week of the Bundesliga!

So without further ado lets look at how the team line up, first of all we will start with Borussia Dortmund:

A strong lineup from the Dortmund camp, but they're missing Lewandowski due to his recent transfer to German rivals and today's opponents FC Bayern! Reus will be eager to prove a point and he has great support in gundogan. They also have the pace of Aubameyang that should cause trouble for the Bayern center half pairing.

and now a look at the Die Bayerns lineup:

Another strong line up, Bayern opting to hand a debut to new signing and former BVB forward Robert Lewandowski, they have an all round strong team including the likes of new signing Thiago, Lahm, 'Mr Bayern Munchen' Schweinsteiger. We can gather from this that neither team are holding back and both want to take home that silverware come the end of 90 minutes.

So without further ado, lets hand over to the commentary team for today's game, Andy Townsend and Alan Smith....
Nice start! IMO Volland is the best replacement for Robert ;) Good luck against Bayern!
good start mate!

German Super Cup Final - Dortmund vs Bayern

Key:
AT - Andy Townsend
AS - Alan Smith

AT - "Thank you Jamie, Hello and welcome to the 2013/14 German Super Cup Final, I'm Andy Townsend and besides me, my partner in crime, Alan Smith! Morning Al"

AS - "Hahaha, Morning Andy, what a fantastic game we have here two of Germany's biggest clubs going toe to toe for the first time this season, it'll be interesting to see who'll come out on top today!"

AT - "Indeed it will Alan. Mind you the task won't be any easier for Dortmund today without Robert Lewandowski, and to make things even worse he starts against them for the first time since moving, who's your money on then Al?"

AS - "I think it has to be Bayern today, I can't see Dortmund having the fire power to see them over the finish line. But if I know Jurgen he'll definitely have some tricks up his sleeve to keep this game interesting"

AT - "You talk about Dortmunds fire power but they still have Aubameyang the summer transition? plus with Reus and Blaszczykowski behind him it should make his job a little easier?"

AS - "Well you see Andy, he may be good but he is not a 30 goal a season man like they had in Robert, I think a lot of pressure will be on Reus this season to try help carry his team over the finish line, he has a big season ahead of him"

AT - "You may be right there Alan, it'll be interesting to see how this season pans out for BVB, but nevertheless they still have a strong team, as do Bayern their opponents today, they have a squad of world class players, I almost forgot it's a repeat of last years Champions League Final!"

AS - "Indeed it is, these two were magnificent in Europe last term and they will be hoping to replicate that success this season, as we speak now the teams are getting ready to kick off"

A Sleepless Night

As I walked through the double doors at the training complex, one thing kept running through my mind the whole time. Mandzukic's last second header... It kept me up all night, it cost me another piece of silverware and has already sprung questions about my managerial skills. Don't get me wrong I can't fault the lads at all, they gave everything for me and for the fans. It probably wasn't helped by the fact Gundogan had to play out of position due to Mkhitaryan's injury problems and we didn't have our first choice right back. I unlocked the office door and went and sat down in my armchair facing towards to window.

I watched the lads train for a good 15-20 minutes, the whole time I was still thinking about that last minute goal, it'll haunt me for years. They didn't deserve the win at all, we was the better team, it's really hard to stomach when you are the better team and you come out of the game with nothing. I knew I needed to add to what I've already got here to be able to mount a challenge in the league and in Europe. I whipped up a quick shortlist of players who I thought could really come in and add something to the team. One name really stood out to me and I was willing to pay any price to be able to bring him here, he's got that one thing that we're missing.

A few minutes passed and I decided to call in my assistant in for a chat and talk about possible transfers:

Key:
JK - Jurgen Klopp
ZB - Zeljko Buvac

JK - "Don't just stand in the doorway Zeljko, come in. Take a seat."

ZB - "Gutentag Jurgen, what do I owe this pleasure?"

JK - "Transfers Zeljko, we could do with adding a bit of quality and depth to our squad."

ZB - "I couldn't agree more Jurgen, do you have a list of targets in mind?"

JK - "I do indeed, here take a look at them, tell me what you think."

ZB - "Some really good names there Jurgen, One stands out to me though and I'm sure the same applies for you."

JK - "Kevin by any chance?"

ZB - "Indeed, I think we should move for him whilst we can, he's not getting much time where he's at, plus he offers something completely different to what Henrikh does. Also with Henrikh being injured he could come in and really cement a first team place."

JK - "Right, I'll start fielding some calls then, I'll let you get back to training and I'll report any news as and when I have it."

ZB - "Ok, I'll have us go defend some set pieces, we could really do with some training in that area!"

JK - "Thank you Zeljko, I'll see you soon."

As Zeljko left the office, I picked up the phone and fielded a few calls, we needed to add quality quickly as the season was almost among us...
Really good start to the story :)
Good luck :)
