“Wow, 52 years old. Where does time go? Now that I look back on my life, I can see that I have been fortunate to have such a successful career and to be where I am today. My life has been great in my opinion now that I look back on it, and most people would love to have done what I have, to play in a World Cup and to also play at the Nou Camp, the home of the legendary Barcelona. I have a great family, and without my family and friends being there for me when I grew up and being so supportive of me, I may have not achieved what I did in life without them, and I am truly grateful for that. These days opportunities for work don’t come my way too often now, with two jobs in the last 5 years, and now I’m hoping to get back out there and prove to the world that I can be the best I can be now that I have retired, it’s just a matter of how long will it take for that to happen. So this is my new start, time to rebuild my life and my career, now the question is, do I take up the offer in Europe and go to work there, or do I return to where it all began for me”.....
Good start and good luck :)

Benitez Sacked Unexpectedly

S.S.C Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed moments ago that the clubs new manager Rafael Benitez has been sacked due to his recent comments in the media. Benitez was quoted as saying that the clubs “transfer policy was a load of s**t”, and that they needed to “move into the modern era” when it comes to the club’s stadium and training facilities. De Laurentiis released this statement on the club’s website – “When we first appointed Rafa (Benitez), we were confident that he was the right man to lead us forward and help us go on to contend for bigger honours such as the Serie “A” title, and also to try and progress in the UEFA Champions League, but now it’s become pretty clear that he was not the right man to take us forward. Myself and the rest of the board would like to apologise to the fans, media and anyone else who has been angered by these comments on behalf of the club, and we can assure you that nothing like this will happen again. As to appointing a new manager, we are not sure yet and have yet to start searching for a replacement due to the sudden sacking of Benitez.” Rafa Benitez, has managed teams including Valencia, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Chelsea, has been unavailable for comment but the 53 year old has apparently told friends that he is deeply ashamed of his actions and regrets them more than anything else, saying he would have liked to stay at the Italian side for the majority of his managerial career. Reports have been circling the internet linking Napoli with moves for managers such as former Italy and Juventus manager Marcello Lippi, Spurs manager Andre Villas boas and former Lazio, Chelsea and Italy midfielder Roberto Di Matteo, but Laurentiis has refused to comment on this speculation at this moment in time.
Good start and good luck :)

Napoli Hire Maradona As New Manager

S.S.C Napoli chairman Aurellio De Laurentiis has today confirmed that the club have hired their former player Diego Maradona as the clubs new manager. Well the Argentine legend’s former club are Maradona’s 5th role in football management, having previously taken up roles with Mandiyú de Corrientes in 1994 and Racing Club in 1995. In a spell between 2008 and 2010, Maradona also took charge of the Argentina national team and also endured a brief spell will Al- Wasl, and the 53 year old was excited about his return to management. Rumours have been going round the internet that the former Napoli favourite, who saw his 10 shirt retired in his honour, has signed a 1 year deal with around an estimated £24,000 per week contract with the club, and has told friends he would like to stay beyond the end of the season and lead the club to Champions League glory in the future, and to also retire at the club. Fans were recently expressing their delight at seeing the joint best player of the 20th century, and also a huge club favourite, take over at the reigns of the club and were looking forward to seeing him in the dugout at the San Paolo stadium.

Maradona started his career at Argentinos Juniors, where he was recently linked with a return to take charge of their team if the clubs current manager buckled under pressure and got the sack, and made 167 appearances for them scoring 115 goals. He then moved to Boca Juniors in 1981 for a fee of £1m and made 40 appearances for them scoring 28 times, earning a championship medal in the 1982 season, before he then impressed at the 1982 world cup and secured a then world record fee £5m move to Barcelona. During his time at the Nou Camp, Maradona played in 58 games for the club and scored 38 games, but got into disputes with many figures of authority at Barcelona and demanded a move away from the club, who then sold him to Italian side Napoli for another world record fee of £6.9m. He got 115 goals in 259 games which was his joint most prolific season in football, but his record at Argentinos Juniors is arguably better with the playmaker featuring in 92 less games for his boyhood side. Maradona failed a drugs test for cocaine in 1991, and was given a 15 month suspension, which at the end of he then moved to Spanish side Sevilla, despite interest from Real Madrid, scoring 8 goals in 29 games. A return to Argentina then materialised with a move to Newell’s Old Boys making just 5 appearances before returning to Boca Juniors to end his career and scored 7 goals in 31 games.

Fans have said that his impressive footballing background is something which is definitely going to help him succeed in his second spell at Napoli.
Some Impressive updates! Good Luck for the sesaon ahead!
