ELCHE CF play their football in Spain's Liga BBVA. They hyad their 1st spell in the top division from 1959 to 1971, a spell that lasted 12 years, but then they were relegated, although by 1973/74 they were playing 1st tier football, only to go down in 77/78.
They stayed in the second tier until 1983-84, when a promotion finally occured, even though Elche finished 5th, because of reserve side dominance. They went straight back to the second division though. By then, Elche were in a financial crisis. In 1998 they were promoted to Liga BBVA against all odds, but they came straight back down. And in 1990-1991, they were relegated to the 3rd tier. They reached the playoffs about half of the time but they never won. In 1997 they finally managed to return to the 2nd tier, only to be relegated and then promoted again. After that, they were a secure mid-table side in the 2nd tier, until, in 2012-13, they were promoted to the Liga BBVA.

I will be leading Elche through their 5th chance, and with high board expectations, it won't be easy. But I am eyeing some players to loan, and you never know, maybe I will
finish mid-table, like the board wants...
Good luck :)
Good luck!
Good luck!
ELCHE TIMES
SPORTS SECTION

ELCHE UNVEIL RODRIGUEZ AND ROBERTO

Barcelona midfielder Roberto has signed for Elche CF on a 1-season loan deal, the Elche Times can confirm. There were no rumours and the move came totally out of the blue. The talented midfielder is being paid 40,000 pounds per week at Elche. Meanwhile, Real Madrid (Castilla) striker Jese Rodriguez is also joining. He is lightning fast and, at 25,000 per week, not to expensive either.
FRIENDLY ROUND-UP

I will be doing "Elche CF Match Ratings" when I give the whole teama match rating.

Rayo narrowly edged Elche to get themselves off to a flying start in Liga BBVA.

The match was fairly even, with newly-promoted Elche proving they can avoid the drop this season, but Vallecano's Larrivey struck a 67th minute goal to give his team all three points, which was very hard on Elche.

A equaliser didn't come and Rayo held on to the final whistle, but 16th-placed Elche undoubtedly
want revenge in the reserve fixture. But will Elche's failure to get the results they deserve cost them greatly?
When you comment, can you predict where Elche will finish? The person/people who guess right will get some sort of prize!
10-12 somewhere here! :D
