FC Internazionale - The Revolution

Our story begins at the start of the 2014/15 season. Hugh Smith has managed FC Internazionale for one season, winning the domestic cup and Serie A in his first season. This season will be different, however. Smith has a new challenge - the Champions league...

Squad

Key Players

http://i40.tinypic.com/2z5pr4n.png
Fredy Guarin was a key player last season, as he could play in so many positions and greatly helped the team win the Serie A. He is also Inters most valuable player.

http://i40.tinypic.com/fyo8pw.png

Samir Handanovic was a great goalkeeper who was a rock in goal. He helped the defensive effort a lot, and will hopefully carry that on this season.

http://i42.tinypic.com/71h2c3.png

Andrea Ranocchia was a stalwart at the back, and without him Inter may have not finished first last season, as he scored 7 goals for the club and was at the heart of the defence as well.

http://i44.tinypic.com/2j27rxl.png

Bojan is Inters new recruit, signed in the summer transfer window of 2014. Smith hasn't seen much of him yet, but he is valued at £15.5m despite being signed for only £6m. He should be a reliable attacker.
http://i42.tinypic.com/4ftzrk.png

Eder Alvarez Balanta is the hottest prospect in Inters ranks, at the moment. He was signed in January (2014), and provided reliable backup for Andrea Ranocchia and teammate Walter Samuel. This season, Smith aims to use him in the first team, as Balanta was signed to replace Samuel. A solid player with bags of potential.

Tactics

http://i41.tinypic.com/xc875.png

4-5-1 with a defensive midfielder and two inside forwards.

http://i39.tinypic.com/1129xk1.png

4-5-1 with an attacking midfieler (Kovacic).

http://i44.tinypic.com/a2yja9.png

5-3-2 with 3 centre backs, two wing backs and one defensive midfielder.

More to follow...

Nice start :) Good Luck with your first story

Message From the Manager

Hello, I am Hugh Smith, and as you all know I won the Serie A and Domestic cup last season with Inter. I want to establish Inter as the biggest side in Italy, with a young first team squad balanced with experienced players. I will narrate this story from now on, so enjoy!

Pre Season and Transfers

Ins

http://i40.tinypic.com/14txb3m.png

The biggest signings were Bojan and Marko Marin, though I am happy that I signed some great youth prospects such as Jon Williams and Sebastien Driussi. Champion, Rio and Santillan are all regens with massive potential and I have signed the other 50% of Mauro Icardi for £8m!

Outs

http://i41.tinypic.com/w0gm55.png

http://i42.tinypic.com/256fedx.png

I mainly let go of fringe players who didn't get a look in on the first team last season. The main outs were Hugo Campagnaro, Saphir Taider and Matias Silvestre, who I got £3.4m from.

Pre Season Results

http://i41.tinypic.com/14lna6h.png

A mixed bag really. We should have won all of these games, but I was experimenting with a lot of my new signings and youth prospects. The standout performer of the pre season was Eder Alvarez Balanta, who had some great games and was fantastic at the back.
I am also pleased to have won the Super Cup Final against Cagliari. Rodrigo Palacio scored a fantastic goal, and the other goal was an own goal.

August results to follow.

August Results

http://i41.tinypic.com/8z1ufk.png

We have only played twice in August (apart from the Italian super cup, of course) and won both games. I expected a win over Bologna, but I am very pleased with the Juventus result.

http://i39.tinypic.com/2yp0nj9.png

Mauro Icardi scored twice, which I am happy about. Hopefully the other 50% was worth buying!

http://i43.tinypic.com/dxjo60.png

We went 3-0 up, but Juventus managed to claw back two goals, which was a shame. But 3 points against Juventus is vital at this stage of the competition. Franco Zuculini scored a cracking goal, which the goalkeeper was unable to stop!

Some good performances in the Serie A, with Bojan scoring 4 goals in 5 games. The Livorno result was fantastic - we absolutely thrashed them. It should have been 6 or 7-0 really. I'm a bit disappointed with the Galatasaray and Parma results, but both games I was playing a 4-5-1 wide formation instead of my normal 4-5-1, so I won't be using that tactic for a while!

http://i44.tinypic.com/2qn45ch.jpg

A good result against Sampdoria, pleased we got one over them as it was away and could have potentially been a tricky fixture.

http://i42.tinypic.com/ml71i9.png

Shame we couldn't get a goal really, Icardi missed several easy chances and I didn't play Bojan. Bruma put in a good performance for Galatasaray, unfortunately.

http://i43.tinypic.com/2agiuxy.jpg

Again, Lazio are a good team and a 2-0 win is satisfactory.

http://i40.tinypic.com/ige0hy.png

What a result! Bojan got two goals (one was a penalty), adding his tally up to 5 this season. Looks like he was worth the money!

http://i43.tinypic.com/10zv9xz.png

It hurt a bit to concede so late in the game, so that was a shame. Ishak Belfodi obviously couldn't score against his former club!

October Results

http://i39.tinypic.com/2ppld3l.png

I am pleased with this months results. I also included the Ternana result (which was played 1st November) as it was the 2nd game where the team scored 6 goals in 3 games! The only thing I am concerned about is the champions league qualification - we lost to Athletico again, and we really should have beaten APOEL by a much larger margin! I am also happy with Walter Samuels form, who scored 5 goals this month whilst Juan Jesus/Balanta were out on injuries or suspension.

http://i41.tinypic.com/avsl07.png

It was a shame to lose against Athletico like this, I was disappointed with Juan Jesus at the time for getting a red card. He was playing dirty all game and I'm surprised he wasn't sent off earlier!

http://i40.tinypic.com/29f4ec7.png

A solid result against Napoli, who finished 2nd in the Serie A last year.

http://i42.tinypic.com/6ymjbq.png

We were lucky to draw this game, Fiorentina should have scored 3 goals but missed them all. Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi were a brilliant partnership up front for them, I must admit.

http://i40.tinypic.com/vidz00.png

I was playing a relatively second strength team here, it wasn't too hard a game but we should have thrashed them really.

http://i42.tinypic.com/rc0u9j.png

I am very pleased with the result here as Catania proved that they are a tough team to beat last season. We were helped along the way by two own goals, both of which came from great shots/headers by Walter Samuel.

http://i44.tinypic.com/dc53dj.png

Again, Modena is a team we should be beating by a bigger margin than two goals but it is still a good result.

http://i40.tinypic.com/b4uu7p.png

Inter thrashed Ternana here; Samuel got a hat trick, Juan Jesus got two goals and Marko Marin (my new signing!) got 4 assists! What a game! Ternana are currently 20th in the table, but I'm still very pleased.

http://i43.tinypic.com/sosuxd.png

Serie A table at end of the month. 4 points clear!

Good story mate and good luck for the seria a, your in a strong position to win it. If you have money try improving your squad to make sure you win
Yeah, I'll see how much the Board gives me next summer and I'll buy some full backs, as all of mine are old (Nagatomo is decent though)

November Results

http://i58.tinypic.com/1z5u7wl.png

4 wins and 1 draw is fantastic, though we were lucky to draw against Galatasaray - Bruma got injured in the first half, and he could have completely changed the game considering his performance last time we played. Roma, AC Milan and Genoa are all good sides so we did well to beat them - Walter Samuel's form has carried into this month and he scored two goals (both against AC MIlan), whilst Ishak Belfodil scored a hat trick against APOEL.

http://i60.tinypic.com/f21wn7.png

A good result against APOEL - Ishak Belfodil got a hat trick, as I said, so I'm very pleased with him. His average rating is 7.60 so far this season, which I think is good. I've played Bojan on the wings for most of this month, and he has proved more effective in that role.

http://i60.tinypic.com/zv25jr.png

4 goals against Genoa is very good - Riccardo Alvarez got two, which is good as I don't play him too often and will play him more in the future, if he puts in a performance like that!

http://i61.tinypic.com/14e9cnl.png

Another 4-1 result! Wow! Like Alvarez in the previous game, Rodrigo Gomez got two here! I am going to have to consider which wingers I want to play, as I have so many talented wingers.

http://i58.tinypic.com/29zs9aa.png

This game was really boring and would have knocked us out of the group stages, but thankfully Athletico lost to APOEL!!! When I saw their result at full time, I went crazy! However, we still have to beat Athletico ourselves to qualify for the knockout stages.

http://i60.tinypic.com/34zdn5s.png

This was the hardest game to play all month, so Samuel scoring two goals certainly helped! A fantastic performance from Rannochia as well, who performed well at the back alongside Samuel.

December results to follow...

December Results

http://i61.tinypic.com/9fzepe.jpg

A pretty poor month on the whole. We failed to qualify for Europe, conceding in the 74th minute and then Mateo Kovacic pulled one back in the 90th! But still, it wasn't good enough and we shouldn't have conceded. We lost to Udinese and drew with Atalanta (two relatively easy games) but a win over Palermo was nice, though!

http://i62.tinypic.com/anf1a1.png

We failed to score here, and Udinese capitalized upon our failure in front of goal! A very poor performance overall.

http://i61.tinypic.com/2eku6nb.png

I thought that Bendtner getting sent of was a ray of hope for us, but when Diego Costa scored I kind of knew we weren't going to qualify. It's a shame, but we'll come back next year!

http://i62.tinypic.com/2zgcfup.png

A bore draw.

http://i62.tinypic.com/34xkuc9.png

Finally! The first win of the month, and I'd hope so too! Palermo didn't put up much of a fight so it was a relatively easy game.

January transfers and results next!

This month wasn't the best, but per total you have very good performances, mate, except UCL. Keep it up!
Thanks, Inter are a tough team to manage so hopefully we'll qualify for the UCL next season. I did expect to get to the last 16 but it's something to aim for next season!

January Results and Transfers

Transfers

Ins

http://i59.tinypic.com/2ykx8ax.png

Ciro Immobile was signed on a co-ownership deal and is still at Atalanta, but I got Genoa's 50% for £2.9m. If I can sign the other half in the summer, Inter will have another decent man up front. Cahill and Alonso were signed on deadline day, Cahill on a free transfer so he can tutor some younger players (though has provided cover for Zuculini and Guarin), and Alonso to rotate with Alfred Duncan and Cambiasso in DM.

http://i57.tinypic.com/24ew0gl.png

Outs

http://i61.tinypic.com/2l8zvjn.png

I let Jon Williams out on loan, and sold Cuenca for £2.6m (which is good considering I got him for free) and I sold Schelotto for Roma as I felt he was a fringe player and I didn't need him. Anyway, Inter made a profit this window but not much business was done.

Results

http://i61.tinypic.com/fwkl12.png

Not too shabby at all, Inter have a decent position in the league. Alonso and Cahill have both really helped the club and have bolstered the midfield, whilst Lorenzo Crisetig has had plenty of game time and has shown his worth for the team.

http://i60.tinypic.com/jqsy7a.png

A solid 3-0 win against Spezia in the cup, which was what I expected.

http://i60.tinypic.com/fxtm50.jpg

Cagliari have been contenders for the title this year (alongside Sampdoria, Juventus and AC Milan) so it was good to get one over them.

http://i60.tinypic.com/wjz6z8.png

We got into the semi finals of the Italian cup after an amazing game over Lazio which went to extra time, before Alvarez was awarded a penalty and scored it!

http://i61.tinypic.com/120miwl.png

The loss against Bologna was a very disappointing match indeed! Alessandro Diamanti scored a penalty with 20 minutes left and we couldn't recover, unfortunately.

http://i62.tinypic.com/2akbwg9.png

http://i60.tinypic.com/21oyq10.png

The two semi-final wins against Modena saw us through to the final of the Italian cup! The games showed me why the Oldies are still Golden, with Palacio and Samuel both scoring twice!

http://i57.tinypic.com/15h1xzk.png

To end the month on a sour note, we lost 2-0 to Juventus! However, Juventus have not done so well in the league this season so it hasn't affected much at all.

February results to follow.
