German Supercup - LIVE

Today we bring you action from the German Supercup match at the VELTINS-Arena, home of FC Schalke 04. Schalke will indeed be playing, and they will entertain rivals Borussia Dortmund. Schalke and Dortmund play out the world-famous Revier derby every year with fellow Bundesliga side Dortmund.
14.25 :
The match today will be officiated by R.Hartmann, and now we can bring you the breaking news regarding the starting 11’s of both teams.
14.30 :
Schalke will line up playing a 4-1-3-2, a different style of football to the one they played last season under Marc Wilmots. The line-up is: Ter-Stegen, Uchida, Höwedes (c), Papadopoulos, Silva, Neudstädter, Verratti, Draxler, Goretzka, Werner, Volland. Fuchs, Huntelaar and new boy Mitrovic also all on the bench.
Dortmund line-up in the classic Jurgen Klopp 4-2-3-1. The lineup is: Langerak, Papasthopoulos, Hummels (c), Sarr, Schmelzer, Bender, Sahin, Blaszczykowski, Mkhitaryan, Reus, de Jong. Gundogan and Aubamayeng are also included on the bench.

14.57 :
The teams are coming out of the tunnel now to the German national anthem. The noise inside the VELTINS-Arena really is quite something. I think we will be ready to get underway shortly.
15.00 :
Schalke get us started.
15.07 :
Reus sets up a free kick for Dortmund 20 yards out. He steps up with his right foot, but dips it over the wall comfortably to the left hand side of ter-Stegen’s post.
15.20 :
Schalke play it nicely around the back, before Timo Werner finds some space down the right edge of the Dortmund box. He fires a shot towards Langerak’s near post, but it is well saved over the bar.
15.30 :
Reus is caught in possession in his own half by Goretzka, and Werner finds some space in behind the defence, but he fires his shot wide. He should really have got it on target.
15.45 :
HALF-TIME - A poor first-half showing leaves us at half-time with a scoreline of 0-0. Hopefully the send will be much better.
16.00 :
Dortmund are about to get us back underway here. Let’s hope for an entertaining half now.
16.04 :
Timo Werner again finds himself in through a gap in the Dortmund defence, but the ball gets stuck under his feet and Hummels gets back to make a brilliant block.
16.35 :
GOAL FOR SCHALKE - A brilliant run from substitute Christian Fuchs down the left led to a cross which met the head of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar at the near post. The header hit the base of the post, before rebounding off of Marcel Schmelzer’s legs and rolling in.
16.49 :
GOAL FOR SCHALKE - Draxler is brought down by Subotic, and from the ensuing free kick around the corner of the box, Christian Fuchs stepped up to curl one past Langerak low at his near post.
16.50 :
FULL-TIME - After a poor first half, Schalke have gone on to win this one 2-0. A nice start to the competitive season for Marc Wilmots’ men, and they will prepare for their match against Cardiff on Wednesday, before the Bundesliga season kicks off next Saturday.
