First, I have to apologize as my old story didn't work great. Now I am looking for a new challenge in the Premier League. I will try to bring Aston Villa back to the top. It will be hard as they struggle at the bottom of the league, but I am confident. I still hope you will read my story and I'm looking to not disappoint you. Thank you!

Paul Lambert leaves Aston Villa!

Aston Villa board announced that the manager Paul Lambert is leaving the club due some medical problems. Instead of him, the English manager John Smith has been appointed. The chairman believes he was the right choice as he knows well the British clubs policy and is considered a very talented young coach. In an interview for Sky Sports, Smith said his first words as the new Aston Villa manager:

"Well, I'm here and I'm proud to manage a great club with a great history. The things don't work great now, so I am determined to bring back the old performances here, at Birmingham. There is no pressure on me and the squad and that lets us to work in safety. The fans are also great here, and I hope they will support us in this journey."

John Smith signed a one - year contract with the English club.

"A good month as we haven't lost any official match. What I think we need to improve is the efficiency in the front of the goal. We had plenty of chances in all matches, but we haven't manage to score more than 5 goals. Also, a good defensive work that provided us a good goal difference."
Started great!
Good start and good luck :)

"A good month as we managed to lose only one match, against Chelsea. We won against Liverpool in Capital One Cup and we qualified for the next round where we'll face Blackburn. In the Premier League, our club is seating on the 6th place. The same and the only problem we face is our unfortune in front of the goal. We need to improve our goalscoring percentage."

Rodgers praises Smith

Brendan Rodgers took several questions about his future chances from Sky Sports in the build up to Liverpool's match against Aston Villa. Sky Sports chose the main focus point for the conference with journalist Gbenga Hall asking:

"John Smith is winning a lot of plaudits for what many perceive to be his overachievment with Aston Villa this season, would you agree that he is performing at an unexpectedly high level at the moment?"

Rodgers responded calmly, saying:

"I think it's fair to say that they're performing better than many expected them to, ultimately the results don't lie though and they have to be treated as a very good side at this point."

Also, in the pre-match press conference, Aston Villa manager John Smith said:

"I respect Brendan Rodgers and his words make me feel great. We won against Liverpool last time, in the Capital One Cup match, but now it's gonna be a hard match because they need points to fullfil they're expectations for this season."
