Schmeichel played for his country, Denmark and made 129 appearances, whilst scoring one goal.
Good luck!

IT'S TIME.

Oh God, what a day! Another Leicester win sees them go top! My son is progressing very well I have to say, goodness knows why he isn't playing at the top level but nevertheless his time will come soon, surely!

Watching Leicester today made me think, I wish I was a manager, yes its a very tough job currently, but I really want to experience it, and see how well I can do, look at Sir Alex Ferguson for example, he didn't have a great start with Manchester United but he kept trying and took United to the top of English football for many years.

However, before I can 'consider' becoming a manager, I'll need some badges or something which shows I'm a qualified coach, so I guess that's in order over the next few weeks, It will be a huge challenge, that's for sure!

Oh my goodness, could this be my opening...?
Good Luck

AN OLD FRIENDS HELP

As I looked at my phone, I felt quite excited and nervous as the message was from an unknown number, could this be a club asking me to be their manager?
I unlocked my iPhone and tapped on messages, and looked message which read:

Who could this be? I wondered, thinking of the possibilities, Could it be my son? He might have got himself yet another phone and not gave me his number yet? Maybe Leicester manager Nigel Pearson to speak about Kasper's performances?

Time flew by and soon enough it was 3:15pm, should I go meet this mystery person? What harm could it do? I grabbed my coat and headed off to my car to drive down to Costa.
When I arrived I opened the door and looked around the room, I saw a few friends around a table having a laugh, a couple sat near the windows having a long chat, who do I look for?

A short woman walked up to me wearing a Costa coffee uniform and asked:
"Are you Mr.Schmeichel?" I responded saying "Why yes I am, why?" "A man over there wants to speak to you." She told me, pointing towards the far tables. "Thanks love." I said to her, smiling. I looked over there to try and see the person from far away but I couldn't see their face, Well, this was it, I walked over to the man and sat down.

"Hello?" I said, trying to get a good look at the man's face. "Hello Peter." the man said, with a strong Scottish accent. It couldn't be? Sir Alex Ferguson...?
"Alex, is that you?" I asked the man, looking puzzled. "You don't recognise the voice?" The man said chuckling, "Of course its me!". He took off his hat and smiled.

"Nice to see you again, how are you doing?" I said to him, shaking his hand.
"I'm well, and yourself?"
"I'm doing well thanks." I replied.
"So why did you want to speak to me Alex?" I asked him in a quiet tone.
"Well, you see Peter, now I'm retired I have a lot of free time on my hands, and I got a text from someone about a potential management job." He replied to me, showing me the message.
"And how does this involve me?" I questioned him.
"Well, Peter, I retired from management as it was enough for me, however you've always told me you'd consider becoming a manager, well now is your chance." He said, handing me the number of the employer. "I've put in a good word for you, take it or leave it, it's your choice." he said, shaking my hand.

Sir Alex Ferguson then walked off and left a tip on the counter. I looked at the number, is this my only chance to become a manager?

DECISIONS

What to do, what to do...
Do I really want to do this?

- I look at the number that Sir Alex Ferguson wrote down on a piece of paper -

There's so many questions I should have asked Sir Alex, I don't even know what club it is!

- I sit down on a chair and slouch back into it and turn on Sky Sports News -

TV: And we have a breaking story! Yet another manager sacking this season! Manager David Weir of Sheffield United has been sacked! Our sources tell us that he had an argument with the board and some players over the lack of funds and the way the players train. We'll have more news on this shortly.

- buzz buzz -
My phone vibrated, I had got a message off a mystery number, I read the digits and then looked at the one on the piece of paper, they were matching!
I quickly opened up the message and it read:

"Hello Peter, We heard that your interested in becoming a manager, and we have a vacant position, if your interested please come down to Bramall Lane at 1:00pm tomorrow and we shall discuss this further."

Bramall Lane...? I looked up the stadium online and I saw the logo of SHEFFIELD UNITED.
No way...

THE INTERVIEW

I arrived at Bramall Lane and parked my car, I looked around and saw many reporters surrounding the stadium, I had to get past them to get to my interview however I couldn't reveal my identity.
I opened the boot of my car and saw I had a rain coat and a woolly hat, this was the only way through...

I put on the coat and the hat and walked past the reporters, they looked at me and one stopped me in my tracks and said "Excuse me sir, who are you?" I tried to put on a strong English accent and replied "I'm a steward, now if you don't mind, I've got a lot of work to do today". I pushed him aside and carried on walking, that was easier than I thought.

I entered the stadium and spoke to the receptionist, "Hello, I have an appointment with Mr. McCabe." I told him. "Oh yes, Mr.Schmeichel? Please go right on through." He replied, pointing towards a door which read 'CHAIRMAN'S OFFICE - AUTHORISED PERSONNEL ONLY.' I opened the door and walked down the corridor, this was it, my first interview to become a manager! I saw the chairman's door open...

I walked towards it and saw Mr.McCabe shaking hands with former Derby manager Nigel Clough...
"Mr.McCabe..?" I said loudly. Mr.McCabe looked shocked and rather nervous. "Uh, Hello Peter." He said with a straight face. "When's my interview?" I asked him forcefully. "Well, Peter, you see, Nigel here, has, uh, agreed terms with us to be our manager." He responded.
I couldn't believe it... I walked away towards the exit, and heard McCabe and Nigel laughing as I left the corridor.

I left the stadium without putting my hat or coat on and the reporters surrounded me. "Are you the new manager?" "Why are you here?" "Did they employ you?" All these voices were hitting me.
"ENOUGH!" I shouted and they all shut up. "No, I am not the next manager, I was close but they hired someone else.... NIGEL CLOUGH." I said, as I walked off to my car.

I now have some hatred for McCabe, Sheffield United and most importantly, Nigel Clough.

Ooh, damn Clough!
@Tyler69 - Yeah, hopefully I'll find another job.

ALL IS NOT LOST

This week hasn't been the best.
Getting my job stolen by another man really topped this week off in all, I was almost there, ready to sign that contract, and it got stolen right before my eyes.

Nigel Clough, god, even thinking about him now makes me want to yell, I've lost respect for him, how can you stoop THAT low and steal a job that was someone else's? Maybe I'm not set out for being a manager.

- Knock Knock -

I'd better go answer the door, probably a neighbour or a journalist to ask about something..

- I push down the handle -

A tall man stood in-front of me, he looked quite old but looked quite serious.
"Hello, how can I help you?" I said to him. "Good morning Peter." The man responded, shaking my hand. "Uh, do I know you?" I asked him, looking rather unsure. "No, but I know a lot about you, may I come inside?" The old man asked, making an indication that he wants to stay for a while.
I allowed him in and I gave him permission to sit down.
"So, who are you?" I asked him. "My name is Roland Wycherley, chairman of Shrewsbury Town, and today, I would like to offer you the chance to become our next manager." He replied, showing me his proof of identity and a contract in his hand.

I couldn't believe it, could this be the turn-a-round I need? Could this improve my week?

"I don't know what to say..." I told him, scratching my head. "Look Peter, we've heard about the Sheffield United saga, and that's why I've personally come to your house to offer you this opportunity." He replied.
"Okay, Mr.Wycherley, I've made my decision, and I would be delighted to accept your job offer, I'm in." I told him. "Thank you very much Peter!" he responded, smiling and giving me a handshake. "I'll see myself out now, I'll speak to you tomorrow Peter!" Roland said, going out of my door.

Oh my goodness, I'm OFFICIALLY A MANAGER!
