i hate the media so i dont mess around with it.

it depends on your squad- try it out by saying that opposition manager is rubbish or whatever- the team could get annoyed about him making "Unprofessional comments" or may feel they have "similar mentalities."
abot other player- it depends on your defneders and how arrogant and cocky hey are, because if they are and you say someone is no problem they fall asleep all game, and if you say that he will be hard and they are very bad proffesionalism then they could think you have no confidence in them. It is hard to get it right- i usually need about a seasons trial and errror.
I just started my first FM09 game. Personally, the comment on danger man is total crap. The only good that can come out of it, is to say that you are afraid him and maybe he will get stressed to perform good, and as a result he won't play good. But, I still think it's crap.
The manager interaction I like more. I usually go for positive comment, such as "hope the best wins". If you win, usually the opposition manager wants to be friend of yours and you end up with many friendships. You can find your name in other managers' favorite personnel, which is nice because there are managers who respect you and your team players often feel good to see other managers praise you.
I tend to only interact with other managers if they say something first.

This also helps in transfers/loans in the long run.
im nasty- everyone hats me cos i always sy the other guy sucks cos my team likes that.
I'd be nasty too if I was managing a top-class team. But I'm managing Luton, so it's better if I keep the tones low and try a more friendlier approach.
well im managing reading, so not too high class a team. Still, they are fairly good.

I'm doing the same thing with Newport. I'm starting to get some positive comments from opposing coaches, especially those that are promotion candidates. I can only hope that the board is listening!
i don't really think it has much of a use in the game myself.
i only become friendly with managers of big clubs and clubs with good youth systems, it makes the transfers easier
Do you have any examples of transfers where it has helped to be friends with the manager though
I only play mind games with the big teams and am normaly nice before the game and mean after it. my team always feels that it is better foe me to protect them, than to be profesional.

Also, i don't comment on dangermen, because you usally just give them confidance to do well against you.
