Portsmouth FC- Theres only one team on the south coast

BBC Sport understand that Portsmouth F.C manager Guy Whittingham has resigned. This has come as a shocked to all Pompey fans as they did not see it coming. Just recently Portsmouth F.C has been brought by the Pompey Supporters Trust. The club have been on a downful recently which has left them in the Npower League 2.

Sky Sports News have just announced that former Portsmouth F.C captain Paul Merson has taken over his former club.
This has come as a shock to many as many football pundits thought Neil Warnock would take the reins at the South Coast club.
Paul Merson is said to be delighted about taking the job.

Doung Jones BBC Sport: Welcome Paul. Hows it feel to be back?
Paul: Its a great feeling to be back. I am enjoying every minute of it.
Jim White Sky Sports News: Paul, what is your aims here at Portsmouth?
Paul: My aims are to with Portsmouth is to try and get them back to the Championship. It will take time and patient. It will take passion and also a hell of lot desire from this group of players.
Richard Frost (www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/‎) Will you be bringing in any players of your own?
Paul: I will have a look at the current playing squad and evaluate them one by one. I will look at the free transfer market and possibly the loan market.
Steve James: The News: Who do you see as main promtion rivals?
Paul: I see Fleetwood Town as one them as they have a decent manager and playing squad. Also a decent transfer budjet. I see Hartlepool as one them as they have desire to bounce straight back up.
Steve James The News: Ian, last question. Where will you be training as you don't have one at the moment?
Ian: We will be using a local school in Havant. We will be using Warblington's schools 3G Pitch and sports hall.

Day one, first training session.

I arrived at training in my Jaguar XF, it was 09:30 am. The weather was around 28 degrees. I stepped out the car with my shorts and training top on. The first I thing I done was that I went to the canteen to have a bite to eat.

After breakfast, I walked onto the 3G pitch. All the lads and I had a team huddle. I was saying how I want us to get promoted.
I made a checklist of things I wanted us to do.
10:30am: Team Huddle
11:00am: Warm up sessions
11:45am: Tatics Session
12:30pm:Lunch
13:30pm: Shooting Session
14:30pm: Ball Drills
15:30: End of session

Interesting story, mate, I'm sure I'll be watching it!
