April - A fine start

It has been a fine start to my managerial career at Ourense. Before I became manager here we had drawn 2 and lost 3 in the last 5 games we played. Thankfully, I think I can safely say I managed to turn our form around well, and ultimately saved us from relegation.

I lost my first game away to U.D. Logrones, one of the top teams in the league. I can't fault the lads they were actually quite good, but at the end of the day, the game really just came down to the quality of finishing.

Our second game was against Sporting"B", who were sat second from bottom. We managed to secure a 1-0 win, with our Attacking midfielder Javi Hernandez striking the ball on the volley from distance, netting the ball beautifully.

Our third game was against Aviles, a team currently fighting for a promotion play off spot, and we were to play them away from home. We disappointingly went 1-0 down in the first half, however some of our great tenacious players brought the game level, before giving themselves the lead in the 79th minute. We were on our way to a memorable victory, until Aviles' striker stepped up and struck the ball into the top corner of our net from a 90th minute free kick. I was absolutely gutted.

The last game of the month would be played, yet again away from home to another top side; Guijuelo. We were on form, and thankfully, they weren't...which gave us the slight edge of confidence. We played very well, although so did they and neither team could for a goal. The full time score ended 0-0, and when I returned home from the match, it was only then I realized that the point we had just earned ensured survival from relegation.

Nice update! Should consider downloading a logo pack :P
Trop: Hmmm, I seem to already have one but only for major teams O.o I can't find where the pack is in my folders and until I do I can't change unfortunately but I will look for one!
Quite good start mate, congrats'!
Dayum, thought that was Javier Hernandez for a sec then! :P

May - Final games

The final two games of the season brought joy to Ourense fans all over. We kicked of the month of May with a draw at Marino. We dominated the game completely, and we took the lead in the 45th minute through Alex Fernandez, and didn't we deserve it. We played well all through the match and did all but win. Our very own on form attacking midfielder Javi Hernandez disappointingly got himself on the score sheet...With an own goal. Not the greatest result, but we played very well, which is extremely encouraging.

Our second and final game of the season came against 11th placed Salamanca. We had the chance to jump ahead of Salamanca and make it as far as 10th in the league, but we needed to win, and results elsewhere had to go our way.

Central Defender Moises got the game running, heading in the corner from Javi Hernandez. The score was 1-0 and we currently stood 10th in the league. Would it stay that way?
Borja Valle, our striker got our second goal of the game, the young Spaniard was played in for a clear cut chance by Hernandez and he made no mistake in sliding the ball past the keeper.

The game stayed 2-0 and we got that 10th spot. We have played some very encouraging passing football in the last two months and I can't wait for more! It has been a great start for me losing just one game in seven, with a team nearly as bare as Welling's. We have gotten many draws (5) but what does that matter? Most have been against bigger sides, which is very encouraging. We've also been the better side in most games.

August - A new season

Pre-Season was great! Two wins, a draw and one loss. I couldn't ask for much more considering all teams are rated considerably better than us. The two teams we beat are both competing in our league, Celta 'B' and Pontevedra. We beat them quite easily and we managed to snag out a draw at home to Deportivo 'B', but a loss to Marbella was the only real disappointment of or four friendlies.

We even started the season in great form at home to Marino, we didn't play brilliantly however we passed the ball around ourselves nicely and crisply. Our finishing was also up to scratch, goals from defensive midfielder Araujo and Attacking Midfielder Javi Hernandez ensured the 3 points would go our way.

This was the only game played in the month of August, and judging from the pre-season games and our first game at Marino...This could be a great season. Although, we only have sixteen players, half of them youth players. I don't know how well this could go but our weakness in depth could be a key factor to determining our final finish.

Hey guys...To those of you that were (although you probably weren't because of its short length) enjoying this story, I am going to have to end it! I am really frustrated by this as the save has become corrupted! My saves have become corrupted quite frequently of late and I've not a clue what is going wrong, if anyone knows why this could be I would really appreciate the help!

My Liverpool save hasn't become corrupted so don't worry about that, I guess it gives me more time to focus on one story instead of two!

I will try this challenge again. When? I don't know, probably when my Liverpool story finishes. ( Hopefully not for a long time) But cheers for the early support lads & ladettes, means a lot. But hopefully I can take Liverpool very far! :)
